Would it be possible for my husband to go to the embassy and ask for packet 3? It just seems like it would be faster that way...our case is at the embassy for a week now but for some reason when I emailed about our pak 3 they requested my husband's phone number? I wonder why? Cuz they have the address and it was included in the email I sent also. Has anyone just gone to there and requested one, rahter than all the waiting and miscommunication?

Before DHL delivered my fiance's packet 3, the courier called him on his cell. Perhaps that is why they want the number. I would wait for it to be delivered. A week is not a long time regarding Cairo,but I know how it feels to wait . However, I do believe that doodle's husband had some success with picking up packet 3 info from the embassy.

My husband went there and got one *but* he had already had his delivered. They put only the cover page in the package and not anything else so he went to the embassy and showed him what they had sent him and they gave him a fresh packet. Not sure if you can just go without showing anything. I guess there's no harm in trying if he lives closeby though. That's why he went since he's right near there so it was no biggie for him.

02/05/07 - I-130 NOA1

02/21/07 - I-129 NOA1

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

06/26/07 - Packet 3 SUBMITTED FINALLY!!!!

07/07/07 - Received pkt 4

07/22/07 - interview consular never bothered to show up for work.

07/29/07 - interview.

Yes my fiance had went there to pick up packet 3 because they had lost his in the mail he never recieved his first one. When he went to the Embassy to get one they told him they would send him another one in the mail and if he did not get the second one then he could come back to the Embassy and pick one up from the guard. He ended up not having to go back because after almost 2 months he recieved the 2nd one.

6/22/2006----Recieved RFE (IMBRA).

7/12/2006----Replied to RFE (IMBRA) Sent back.

7/17/2006----Our 1 year Anniversary!!!!

7/19/2006----VSC recieved RFE (IMBRA).

7/20/2006----touched

8/18/2006----touched

8/18/2006----NOA2!!!!!! THANK YOU GOD!!!!

8/18/2006----VSC sent our petition to NVC.

8/19/2006----touched

8/22/2006----NVC recieved our petition.

8/23/2006----NVC sent our petition to Cairo Embassy.

8/25/2006----Recieved NOA2 Approval letter in the mail.

8/31/2006----Cairo Embassy recieved our petition.

9/24/2006----I emailed the Embassy reguarding my fiance's packet 3.

10/17/2006--Cairo sent packet 3 for the second time to my fiance. First one was never recieved.

10/19/2006--Packet 3 recieved.

12/20/2006--Packet 3 sent.

12/21/2006--Cairo Embassy recieved packet 3.

2/21/2007---Packet 4 recieved.

3/12/2007---Interview (He Passed)!

3/12/2007---Administrative Processing begins.............God please help me get through this!

7/17/2007---Our 2 Year Anniversay!!!

10/23/2007--7 months and 2 weeks of A/P and still waiting..........God help me!

4/22/2008---2nd Interview ( keep us in your prayers)

4/22/2008--He was approved for the Visa 2-3 weeks until he recieves it in the mail lets hope so!!

6/03/2008--VISA IN HAND! Thank you god!

7/03/2008--Our Wedding Day!

My Husband NEVER got his Packet 3 !!!! The embassy said that they mailed it - which I dont believe. We ended up collecting all the info that the Packet 3 wanted.. and sent it back. They accepted it.. and he actually did receive his Packet 4/ interview date in the mail.

They also replied to my email (about never opening our case/ sending a packet 3)stating that his address was wrong - which It wasnt. SO I resent them a email re-writing the SAME ADDRESS that they already have. They said they "corrected" his address and would mail out his packet 3. The Dept of State had in their computer that they opened AND mailed out the Packet 3 the SAME day I received the email.

So my advice.. Dont let too much time go by.. without taking things into your own hands

I hope that you will fidn the best thing to do cos lettign time go by really is not a good thing. We have to be apart long enough without adding in more time.

June 05, 2007 Interviewed and she said he was approved, kept passport and said will recieve in 4 days.

No kidding!!!!! I'm kicking myself now for not having everything ready for when we got the packet, but things just happened faster than I thought so now the wait is on us and I HATE that!!! :angry:

12/28/06 - got married :)

02/05/07 - I-130 NOA1

02/21/07 - I-129 NOA1

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination
