Travel to Mexico with green card

Hello all,

My husband and I are planning on going to Mexico soon for a few days. He is from Kosovo with a UNMIK passport. He has his green card now, but I am confused if he will need a visa to enter Mexico or if he now travels like a US citizen.

Time is of the essence here....we just realized this could be a problem.

Thanks so much,

Sara and Meti

Green card does not make him a Citizen. But yes Mexico and Canada recognize the green card and allows visiting without visa, you need passport, and the green card.

National SERBIA (REPUBLIC OF) (RS)

Residence U.S.A. (US) /Destination MEXICO (MX)

MEXICO (MX)

Passport required.

Visa not required for a touristic stay of max. 180 days,

provided holding:

- proof of residence; and

- Tourist Card/FMT form issued by airlines (free of charge).

Immigration officers will decide on max. period of stay.

Thanks YunAnd Dan for this information.

I am curious if there are other countries, besides Canada and Mexico, that recognize the green card for tourist travel without a visa. We really like to travel, but it is virtually impossible to get visas for citizens of Kosovo as it is still a UN protectorate without status.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Most in North and South Americas. Just use that link I posted, enter Serbia for Citizenship, USA for residence, and pick a foreign country. That tool is very neat.
