Did you try to call NVC 1-603-334-0700?

To write to them is useless. To reach them on the phone is difficult, but possible.

So in case anyone is in a similar situation : we finally heard back  from NVC saying they never received our petition and that they were gonna work with uscis to locate our petition.

They said to be patient and that no action was required on our part. However we're a bit stubborn now, so we kept calling and were told the USCIS actually forwards a case within 90 days, not 30 anymore?

They say we're at day 86 so there's nothing they can do before monday.

Seething.

Have you tried calling USCIS?   October filer here,  we were approved on May 2019 and still to this day no case number and we started calling NVC in mid-July and repeatedly told there we weren't in their system yet, that's it. The reps for the most part were hard to understand and weren't helpful much, since no one even suggested we should give USCIS a call. My husband called USCIS finally after I was told they don't talk to the beneficiary,  he was told by a tier 1 rep  our case wasn't sent yet, he said it should now and we should have our case number in 30 days, gave him a confirmation number.

Try calling USCIS. They only speak to the petitioner,  probably your case is still sitting somewhere at USCIS, too. Although again I am not sure if they send these cases as hard copies in this day and age.

Looks like a lot of people are in the same boat with us. IS this mere clerical error or are they  deliebrately slowing down, using what criteria. I really have no idea. USCIS process has no transparency, so I doubt we can ever know.

Best luck, call USCIS, after a week, start calling NVC again, you can also check your status via your USCIS account.

That *is slow but then again what's the use of an approval if it doesn't move forward? Hang in there , my friend. We thought the whole process was gonna be around the ballpark of  6-8 months. 10 months into it, we don't even have a case number yet. This process can make or break your marriage, I'll tell you that much. We are paying quite a lot of money for this, too. Pretty expensive and dragging process so far. We haven't hired a lawyer, since ours is a straightforward case but for people who have to, it would end up easily around 5k including all expenses.

It’s up to 6 weeks for USCIS to send the approved case to NVC. As to 90 days, it’s a standard USCIS answer to ANY type of inquiry. If I were you, I’d contact my congress person to initiate a search for a lost dossier. Without a kick, USCIS would do nothing, feeding you with a 90 days increments each time you call them.

Wow 6 weeks that’s too long for uscis to send it to NVC. True contacting them will help you a lot. Wish all well soon for you and everyone🙏

To people in Nebraska still waiting: you might still consider filing the 129f. I know at this point it may only save you 1 month, but:

1) One month is still a long time! (I have friends who get miss their spouses when they’re gone on 2-3 day business trips 😂)

2) With the way things have been going the last couple of years, God only knows what conditions will be like in October. This was actually my main motivation for filing even though it seemed “late”. (I’m an October 2018 filer (Nebraska), didn’t learn about the 129f until late June, and didn’t file 129f until July 9.)

Even though my 130 has been approved now, I worry every single day that the rules of the game are going to change before my husband gets here. I didn’t want to wait for October only to find out that months were being added to the process for who-knows-what-reason e.g., a new USCIS director adding another step to the process or redirecting resources.

Just some food for thought!

Hubby has gone home 😢 and still nothing from USCIS 😤.... We’ve already booked our next round of flights to see each other in December for a month... But, was wondering...

Has anyone found any good Flight Booking Apps?

We currently use JetCost... they’re the cheapest we’ve found, they’re pretty good, but having spent well over $20,000 on flights back and forth in total, I’m wondering if anyone has found anyone cheaper than JetCost for International travel.

Last year I didn't stick to one airline. This year I did I got silver status for next year on Delta. With that I can upgrade complimentary to comfort+ or first class. I've noticed in all of the long haul flights that half of the comfort+ seats and first class we're empty.

So I'm looking forward to my trip next year laying down in first class asleep snoring my flight away.

Yeah, I’m  flying generally with virgin/delta combo... we’ve noticed however that there’s anywhere up to $500 variance in price for the same flight depending on who you book through... booking direct with virgin is usually more expensive than booking one of their flights via a third party

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi guys haven’t posted in a while put this whole process is so frustrating from dealing with NVC and also having to deal with an incompetent lawyer my wife and I are both mentally and emotionally exhausted. So our case was sent to NVC on July 1 and due to an issue with my stepsons name that we were trying to get resolved I finally payed all the IV fees and avidavit fees on July 10. Then having to be on top of the lawyer constantly to have both visa applications my wife’s and my stepsons completed and all proper documents uploaded which finally got done by august 14th 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😓. A whole month just to fill out and application that should take no longer than an hour or so to fill out. I was also getting ready for my trip to go see my wife and stepson that I hadn’t seen since December. So I finally get an email from NVC on September 13th thinking it’s good news and I was so excited just to find out that my wife’s police certificate was rejected. Of course on the message from NVC on the CEAC website does not state why and since it was a Friday after 5 I was not able to get through to my laywer. I decided to call NVC myself and spent 1 hr and 30 minutes just to be able to speak with some one and they told me the issuing authority was incorrect on the police certificate. Now I’m pretty sure we had the correct one but since I didn’t have the original in front of me because I was on my home from work I didn’t argue or dispute it. Once I get home and look at the certificate it says word for word what NVC was looking for. I call back and wait almost 2 hours on hold and told them and they finally just told me I can go in and look at the file uploaded to make sure and when I go in to see the laywer uploaded the receipt of the certificate not the actual certificate!! At this point I am livid and decided just to upload the correct document myself. So that’s done and then today about 9pm I get an email regarding my stepsons case. When I go in to read the message it says that his birth certificate is not in an upright position and must be corrected for them to accept it🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️... Yet again another small stupid mistake that the laywer made just delaying the process even longer. Mind you it’s been almost a whole year and we still haven’t been able to complete this process. On top of all that my wife broke some terrible news to me yesterday that she had a miscarriage. She was only 17 days pregnant but we have been trying for so long ever since we have been married. It is just so upsetting and frustrating with everything else going on.. We have been married for 2 years and I have only been able to be with her for a total of 4-6 weeks since we’ve been married. It just feels like all hope is being lost and we really are just drained. I’m sorry for such a long post but I just needed to vent out to people or someone who are in a similar situation. It is not easy being away from your partner for months and months at a time and when we see each other it’s only for 2 weeks due to my job.
