October 3 2018, still waiting at Nebraska 😢

(NSC - PD Oct. 25) Do you receive weekly estimates from VJ of your NOA2 approval date in emails? I do, and a curious thing happened. The estimated date has been steadily increasing from late September to Late October, Oct 29 in fact. Now my last estimate went BACK to Oct. 13! I wonder if it is just a glitch or if it reflects some king of re-sorting of the paperwork among the various centers. If we are approved by Oct. 13 that would make a trip to Houston in time for Thanksgiving more likely.

I’d say it’s to do with changes at USCIS... our VJ estimate originally was May 12 19. back when  USCIS was telling us they were processing June 18... sucks that 9 months later USCIS went back in time to processing May 18 I really don’t see how... either way, we’re looking at around 12 months at the earliest now possibly longer.I wouldn’t count on thanks giving unless just for a vacation... NVC takes about 2 months and that’s if from a low risk country.. Brazil in your case likely 3+... I’m hoping for Xmas / new year for final approvals and visa in hand...

Christmas would be okay if we miss TG. We have thought about trying a tourist visa but I hear that's very unlikely to get, especially when it's around the time of receiving the I-130.

And what about an existing ESTA? Is it okay to use it for a visit right before NOA2?

My case was received by NVC 2 weeks after NOA2 and then Case number was assigned 4 weeks later. It was sent to the emails listed on I-130 and I-130a.

Hello @ArmyVet you have been soo helpful on this forum. I’m still waiting for my noa2 from texas😩, however, I called them last week to request an expedite. Today they send me a letter for additional evidence for expedite. I know u did an expedite sometime ago.  Can you please send me the template you used so that I can edit mine?  I’ve been looking for the one you put up as a template but no luck finding it. Thanks.

Hello all!

We got our NOA2 May 24th, still no NVC welcome letter. We wrote to the NVC two weeks ago, no answers, we also wrote to our state senator.

Feeling lost here, anybody in the same situation ? :(

Why so long with the NVC? But if you have a lawyer maybe they should call NVC for your papers. Hopefully you should get something soon! Good luck!

Did you try to call NVC 1-603-334-0700?

To write to them is useless. To reach them on the phone is difficult, but possible.

June 23 I received from VJ  an estimate approval date of Oct. 21 for our NOA2  - we filed last Oct. 25 and  the Nebraska center . Then June 30 it was bumped up to Oct. 24  - normal  to be bumped forward 3 days  like that just 7 days later. July 17 came along and surprise, the date was earlier - baack to Oct. 13. It has never gone backward. The last estimate July 21 is at Oct. 17. Hopefully they are shuffling things around to keep us from going over a year as that may require resubmitting paperwork.
