My brother just had his interview for I-485 or whatever is called (Green Card). He never received the appointment for fingerprints. They told him to get his fingerprints done tomorrow and that they will send his GC by mail within 2 weeks.

is this possible? what are the chances of him getting his GC?

From memory, I think one_coolchiq went through the same kind of thing. Perhaps search for her threads, or send her a pm.

As far as I understand, it is somewhat normal for biometrics to be done following the AOS interview if the applicant never received an appointment notice, and approval follows shortly after.

They need his picture and finger print for the GC. They can pump those out quickly. Claudeth received her approval letter and five days later the GC.

Not to rain on the parade but there can also be delays for unknown reasons. Our interviewer also ordered the biometrics for the same day and told me that the approval letter should folow in 3 to 4 weeks (that's how long the biometrics results might take according to him.) As of today it has been 5 weeks (less one day!) and we haven't heard anything - this was the same office and same person that onecoolchick had hers done at in Denver (a week later!) So, go figure! I am not worried though - may be after another 4 or 5 weeks we will worry about it - not now. Good Luck

hi congrats to your brother but if the officer said that he can do his biometrics tomorrow im sure he made a note on his aos appt. letter so that's possible but every case is different just like what motu said it ha s been 5 weeks and he hasn't gotten the card in the mail while i got my welcome letter last sat. but no card yet. Goodluck to him.
