So you think a $5000 fine is "home-free?" Wow. So can you loan me $5000 since you think it's such a small amount of money?

I've lurked here ever since my Canadian spouse came over to the US, and this off-topic forum makes me more and more ill everytime I read it. Nothing but a cesspool of racists and xenophobes. Makes me think we picked the wrong country and should've just headed to Canada where they don't have an irrational fear of brown people.

Hell, it should be $50,000 considering how much those damn bastards get free thru their criminal acts.

BTW, I'm a "brown person", the daughter of LEGAL immigrants and the wife of one soon to be, insha'allah.

not all illegals commit criminal acts, they work like u or me.. actually they work in shitty places...

and cmon ET-US2004, here in the Carolinas the guest worker programs work fine.. people don't overstay, they go and come back, it's good money, although yeah, they live like freakin slaves, but, still, they don't wanna risk it.. not all guest workers overstay just because they're latinos..

Just to ease your worries about the illegals being able to pay the $5000.00, just heard that they have 5 years to pay it off.

Is there a breakdown of what would be the nationalities make up the illegals population in the states, crossing the Mexican border does not make a person a Mexican?

they usually never get their tax refunds.. cuz the numbers are fake.. IRS doesn't return jack to them..

but again, it seems tht people think paying the $5k instantly gives them green cards.. i dont think it works that way

btw, this is not the new "Grand Bargain" bill. the url points to place holder bill which appears to be identical to the CIR from last year. it was introduced by Senator Reid as a stop gap measure to bring the issues up for debate.

pedroh, i was referencing the bill that will allow them to stay and therefore legally file income tax returns and receive tax refunds - legally. i was not referring to them doing so while illegal.

Illegal aliens or those who come to the US and overstay are from everywhere in the world. The majority of people looked at as "illegals" are Mexicans. It is nobody's fault but their own. They should have never taken to the streets of the USA waving the Mexican flag, putting it in people's faces, and demanding they have citizenship rights in a country they have entered or live illegally. I don't see people from any other country throwing their motherland country's flag in people's faces. It probably would've been better to just stay quiet. They put themselves out in front. Now, it's time they have to face the reality of resistence from US citizens who do not want them here. It's going to get worse before it ever gets better.

not all illegals commit criminal acts

Bwaaa haaa haaa haaaa !!! Did you think before you typed that?

Oooo. Did you think before you typed that, or was it just an ignorance reflex?

I'm so terrified of the big bad EWI's. They might hold me at gunpoint or something.

oh.. if u mean the 'every day that they're here is a crime'.. then yeah, they're criminals.. but:

"In fact, under current law illegal presence is not a criminal offense; it is a civil offense punishable by civil sanctions and deportation."...

now if you meant that all illegals only commit criminal acts instead of working.. then, i guess u're the one who didn't thought before typing.. not all illegals are thiefs, drugdealers, or murderers..

no need to be a smartass.

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s110-1348

shows the text of S.2611 and S.2612 from 109th congress. if you noticed, the bill was introduced on May 9th, a full week before the "Grand Bargain" was introduced.

"Last Action: May 14, 2007: Motion to proceed to consideration of measure WITHDRAWN in Senate."

it was withdrawn from the calendar so that the new bill can be introduced and debated

or if you prefer to see it on the senate pages:

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d1...mp;summ2=m&

ok?
