Kez,

Not necessarily. A photocopy of the the I-94 was to be submitted with the I-485, as mawilson pointed out. As long as that was done there should be no need for a replacement I-94.

Been there.

You will be asked to produce the original I-94 at interview..... so yes you will need it... you can get a replacment I-94 by filling out the form that is available on the USCIS website and pay the fee.... The I-94 is your l proof that you entered the US legally and that you were inspected at POE....

The current fee is $160.00

The couple sat next to us at our interview were worried because she had last her passport and the I-94... I said to them that a photocopy should be enough.... we met them outside after our interview and they were very upset... they were not approved at interview but were given the paperwork to file for a new I-94 and were told that once that had been recieved they were to forward it to the interviewing officer and she would then approve the case.... so it seems to be another case of each interviewing officer applies the rules diffrently...

Kez,

Yes it does seem to be, and that can happen.

Or, perhaps the interviewing officer could not find a photocopy of the original I-94 in the case file? Did the couple say anything about that possibility?

For $160 I'd wait to be told that I needed a new I-94.
