regarding packet 3

hello all,,

I was just looking at my packet 3 instructions. I have seen few Vj members saying that if you are making enough money, then you don't need to be worried about getting a bank letter, stock statements etc. My wife is from India (mumbai embassy). In our packet 3, it specifically says that petitioner must provide an affidavit of support, a job letter, a bank letter etc...

I guess, packet 3 instructions are different for each country?

In our case this what the I-134 included.

• I-134 signed and notarized.
  
• Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS
  
• Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years
  
• Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.
  
• Photo copies of past 6 months pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.
  

Our I-134 was bound neatly in 1 folder, I-134 on top, then supporting documents behind it.

The bank letters are optional, they are needed if income is below 125% poverty line and you are relying on the bank account as an asset.

In fact the I-134 is optional if you can prove that your wife wont become a charge of the state, the I-134 is a statement that documents how your wife will be supported, until status is adjusted.

Yes, the Packet 3 instructions may be slightly different for different countries. However, basically the more info you provide, the better. We provided 6 months of bank statements and pay stubs, as well as the bank letter and employer letter, and got approved. Give them everything they ask for and MORE! Good luck!
