Hey all,

Just a quick question regarding the medical procedure. I've read that it isn't necessary to take the medical for the AOS if you can produce the form from the medical you had before you left your home country (in my case, the UK). I'm not sure I understand this as the medical results are given out in a sealed envelope that can only be opened by a officer at The Embassy. So what form are we talking about here? How can I prove I've had the medical?

I'm not sure about the K3 process, so I'll answer from my K1 experience. The medical exam results would have been in the sealed envelope handed to the POE officer upon arrival in to the US. Another complete medical examination is not required as long as the AOS application is filed within the year following the original medical. All that is required is the Vaccination Supplement (form I-693A) completed by a civil surgeon. This can either be sent in with the AOS application, or taken to the interview (a lot of people send it in with AOS to bypass any potential RFE).

Good luck. :)

When we filed for her AOS I did not know to send the vaccination supplemant Appendixe A to the I-693.All I sent was the vaccination recored DS 3025 from Bangkok. We have never gotten any RFE in any part of the immagration process. We are now trying to get the supplemnt before her AOS interview in April just to be safe.It has been very hard to do this in the Miami area. Here are a few sites dealing with the medical

Okay, well I should be fine in terms of my medical. One problem, though. I had my vaccinations in England at the same time as I had my medical. I don't have an I-693A. The only thing I have is an invoice for the eighty pounds I paid for the vaccinations. They are listed on that. Is that enough?

You will need to make an appointment with a civil surgeon in your area to have the I-693A form completed (they should have a copy of the form there, otherwise you can download it). Take along all records of your vaccination history, the doctor will transfer the information on to the form for you, and then seal it in an envelope (ask for a copy for your records). You can send this off with your AOS application.

You can find a civil surgeon here:
