K1 Approved but haven’t received passport back?

Hello everyone 

 

I have a really silly question to ask, I had my k1 visa interview on 4th of October and still haven’t received my passport. They said I was approved and  i called on Friday and they confirmed it’s approved, on the ceac website it says administrative processing, is this normal or am I worrying for absolutely nothing? Also I have to add when I went for my interview my medical wasn’t there. The medical was delivered to them last Wednesday.

Everything you posted sounds normal.  Administrative Processing applies to all cases.  Some case take a longer time.  Congratulations....you are almost ready to enter the US.

Thank you, I’ve been a bit worried, when you google admin processing it’s sounds like a big term used for everything and then some say it’s a black hole.

Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a consular officer. Applicants are advised of this requirement when they apply. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on the individual circumstances of each case. Your mileage may vary.

 

When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

 

Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued".

@Greenbaum so it changed to nonimmigrant today but the status is application received so I guess soon then

So update on everything, On the ceac website, it changed to non-immigrate visa application and it says application received and the case creation date changed as well. So hopefully soon.

Hey guys, my visa is issued and on it's way. Just wanted to say thank you for all the help and reassurance as this process does make one on edge to think something is wrong when it's not. Thank you for the useful information you guys post.
