I've read many of these interview experience/reviews....at the US consulate in Mumbai.

And a repeat question that comes up is when the CO first asks Who is calling you?

Like what does that mean? And it is awfully confusing to be honest.

Do they just want to know the name of the spouse?

And the beneficiary will understand this question easily.  There are variations of every language in each country where it is spoken.  My personal favorite from India is the invention of the word "pre-pone" -- which is the opposite of postpone (i.e., to move up the date or time of a meeting vs make it later).

@TonyK & @A2isha it means they want to know who is the petitioner like in k1 your fiance name and for your spouse case your spouse name  .

This is correct.

Really a silly and localized way of asking, "Who is your petitioner?"  As if you wouldn't know their name or that they are your spouse etc.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous
