Assalaamu alaikum to my muslim sisters/brothers and greetings of peace to all others,

I just wanted to post to give those of you who are still waiting to be reunited with your ME/Arab/muslim spouse/fiance/other half. It is possible! I know it seems like an eternity but they really do let Arabs/muslims in the country!!! :P

I know there are several people here who have been waiting an unusually long amount of time and my prayers are with them but from what I've seen it really isn't the norm. Sure we may have to wait a little longer than the average VJ member because of the name checks and security clearances BUT for the most part the end result is the same... VISA IN HAND!

I think it's important to remember first of all that the person you're waiting for is the one you love and they're worth the wait and just try to be patient during the hard times. It's worth every moment of waiting TRUST ME!

Also, for those of you who are new to this board, there's a lot of really good people here to help you through this process either by offering really great advice on your imigration issues or just to provide support when you're having a tough time. Just remember why you're here (why we're all here) and try to stay away from drama because it tends to just add to the stress you're already experiencing.

My advice to the foreign fiances/spouses regarding the interviewing and POE process is to REMAIN CALM at all times. I understand you're nervous and maybe you've heard horror stories of being sent back (been there done that) but as long as you don't act flaky when dealing with the immigration folks it should go pretty smoothly. Try to get comfortable speaking and understanding the language before you make it to that level to ease the jitters once you're there.

I wish you all the best of luck and keep your chin up! It's going to happen God willing! (F)

I have learned to realize recently and much to my dismay, that it is so easy to forget exactly what we are fighting for. A piece of paper. Yes, that is all it is, a piece of paper. I don't need a piece of paper to remind me of how much I love my husband, to remember what his touch feels like, to remember the smell of him. I don't need a piece of paper to remind me of how my heart would jump into my throat everytime he walked into the room, how he makes me feel cherished and loved with even a glance from him. I could go on and on. The only thing I need this piece of paper for is so that I can get on with my life with him. Nothing more, nothing less. So, I try to wait patiently, sometimes it gets to me, the seperation. I know that everyone here must feel the same. We just have to stay patient and have faith that in the end all will be good for us. Someone told me recently that God knows what we need, and to never question His Wisdom.

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!

Waelikum salaam.

I wish I could feel that way!

Thanks God for distractions like working over-time and kids and lots of other stuff; also for getting so used to this 'wait' ... but I'd rather have my husband here than getting used to waiting!

Also, thank you for your post.
