Montreal doesn't have our case

NVC completed our case 4/3/07. we haven't heard anything from Montreal so I emailed them, this is what I got back:

"Please advise where you have filed this petition as we don’t have this.

Thank you"

what kind of pony express is used to move files from NH to Montreal that they don't have it in 1.5 months? Is it time to ask my senator's office to help track this down? It seems like our case takes the longest possible timeline, so I'm all ready for it to be lost again.

On a slightly different note, the hubby just got a contract to work 25 day shifts in the oil sands (whoo money). but he's concerned that while he's up north we may get something from montreal that just sits in the mail box for a few weeks. What should we expect to get from Montreal? Just the interview letter or is there something else before that? Is there any danger of missing the interview or will they give us a month or more lead time?

When I called the Montreal Consulate to check on my case, they seem to mention that your case may not be sent from the NVC to the Consulate until the interview has been scheduled, and that can take 5-7 months. I may be misinterpreting what they're saying, but that's what I got from the message. Good luck!

If I were you I'd try to get the case transferred to Vancouver to cut down on that huge processing time at Montreal, but yeah calling the NVC might let you know if they've contacted the Montreal Consulate at least and that you could be in line for an interview later.

CR_1's are only processed in MOntreal so no transfer possible.

Call NVC and see what's up ...........Good Luck

still on hold with NVC, but wanted to report what may be the fastest reply ever from Montreal. I answered their email less than an hour ago and they already responded telling me to call NVC. What the hell, is there some sort of evil alignment of the stars that has caused them to reply to quickly.

ok got through-nothing scheduled yet. Does anyone have a feel for what time of day is best for calling NVC?

NVC schedules interviews with Montreal around the 15th of every month. So if you don't get an interview date from calling them this month, then try again next month after the 15th.

I believe that the package you'll get from Montreal for the CR-1 will be pretty big with lots of stuff in it like medical instructions, etc.

yeah that's what I'm afraid of. both the hubby and I are in the field most of the summer-so any letters from Montreal may sit around in our mail box for a few weeks before we see it.

Maybe I should start a new topic for this but oh well. Does anyone from Calgary know if the Dr. requires the interview letter at the time of the medical? The hubby will be heading for the bush June 6 and won't be back till early July. I'm wondering if he can go get his exam now so it will be ready whenever we do get the interview date.

Actually, he'll be going through Edmonton on his way to Fort Mac so if the Dr. there doesn't require the letter that might work too??

Ya, just keep calling NVC now and then as they schedule the CR-1 (ir-1) Interviews. I would just contact the Calgary DR, explain the situation.

Can you get a neighbour to check your mail daily for you and contact you if something comes through? If I recall, the last few CR-1/IR-1 applicants got their packet 2-3 weeks before their interview date.
