Timeline

Anyone here that has experience getting a ITIN for a foreign spouse that is oversea? I know that a tax return is needed along with proof of ID. But I read somewhere also that they needed verification of being in the US once? Let me know.

no,  does not ever have to be here

just follow IRS instructions and submit the required documents and beneficary fills out the W7

need original of ID and marriage certificate

 I did it after our 2010 marriage and he came 1st time in 2015
