What is Application number/Petition number in DS-160?

Hello everyone! It must feel like it’s a dumb question but i want to know what is Application number/Petition number is that is asked in the DS-160 form?

In application number i have put case number my bad🙁 and now i have send that confirmation page to embassy already. Is there any way to fix it please let me know..

USCIC receipt number.You shouldn't submit it so soon. But you can create a new DS160. Go to the website of CEAC,your former DS160, retrieve it then you'll see two options 1.review confirmation page,2.create a new DS160. Choose 2. Then you'll get a new ID number ,put in security questions like you did before, you'll go into a new DS160

 I already have submitted and embassy has gotten the delivery but still i can do new ds-160? Will there be any problem?

No. If you're afraid of it,you can call the USA embassy to make sure. I called the USA consulate in my country, they said "create a new one.No problem ". But it's better to bring two confirmation pages to the interview just in case

You're welcome. You made a big mistake to put in the wrong application number, it'll affect your interview (The visa needs your personal information like birthday,application number...on it),so you'd be careful and better to create a new DS160.  But you can call the embassy to make sure. You've paid the visa fee?right?So it's ok

No I haven’t paid the visa fee because still waiting for p4

Sorry. I typed in a wrong word. It's ok if you haven't paid the visa fee or book the interview. Why will you get p4?You'll get epackage 3 or a letter from the USA embassy first

Even you've paid the visa fee,you still can create a new DS160 just need the new DS160 number to upload your profile

Yes i got p3 in which they asked for ds-160 confirmation page,passport info page and 2 photos..this is where i made the mistake to fill ds-160 application...and i think after sending back p3 to embassy they send p4 for doing interview appointment...am i right ?

Here we need to book the interview then we'll get an interview confirmation letter printed out from the USA consulate electronic system.Not sure about yours. Package 4 might be the last one the consulate will mail to you before you go to the USA
