AOS and WIC

Me and my wife are expecting a baby in September. Since I can not work (due to not having my work permit yet) we are considering my wife going on WIC. My question is if my wife being on WIC can affect my AOS process somehow?

I remember this topic in another thread. Try searching in the "Moving here and your new life in America" section. I'm on my way to work and don't have time to look it up for you. If I remember correctly it was Ok to use WIC but have a look and see what you come up with. You can also try searching the WIC website. I think that is where I found the information.

The simple answer to this question is no.

Your wife is a USC she can claim any help that is available to her with no effect on your AOS.... it is only the immigrant that is restricted in what help they can apply for.....

If you wife/baby get WIC, that has nothing to do with you. WIC is "Women, Infants, Children" - I don't see 'men' in there, so you're fine.

And as much as WIC does help, it's just supplemental. It's not the government is buying all your groceries - maybe 50 dollars a month, tops. (At least in my experience.) So not a big deal
