Hey just curious how far away was the interview from the date you got the letter ?

They sent my letter for the interview to my mother in laws house so I’d have to drive there to pick it up. But I can’t go before this week end and I got my notification that they scheduled me an interview and sent a letter a week ago

Exactly one month for us.

I spoke with a tier 2 officer today. She told me it was probably to shorten the waiting time. So I guess that’s pretty accurate 🙂

All, our interview was scheduled today! Way sooner than expected. Seems like we'll be getting the GC before the EAD.

My EAD just got approved and I’m waiting for the hardcopy now!

For the Green card, the status is still ‘ready to be scheduled for interview’ but little bit relieved that I’m getting combo card soon!

How did it go!?

It went really well!

It was much like other reviews on here from Phoenix. We arrived half an hour early just in case security line was long but it wasn't we were through in about 5 minutes.

Then we checked in and waited for our name to be called. It seemed like there were a lot of people in the waiting room but they got through them pretty fast.

We got the really nice woman who made the whole thing fun and not stressful at all. She just wanted to know about how we met and what had been our relationship timeline and then she collected the documents she needed including evidence of a continuing relationship. She went through the form and asked a lot of the questions again and made any corrections to update the form.

Then at the end she gave us a form to say she was recommending us for approval.

Overnight the case status updated to new card being produced.

Overall a pretty easy part of the process and much sooner than we were expecting.

Now its over for another 2 years until we have to apply for removal of conditions.

Good luck to everyone!

Any suggestions on what to bring? We have everything that they list on the interview notice but I just want to be sure they don't ask for something else. Our interview is on October 16.

@Steve&Chelsea Did you also need to submit a form I-693 for the interview or did the medical from the K1 application cover it? The list on the interview notice says "if not previously submitted" and I thought we submitted a medical with the initial K1 so I just want to make sure I didn't need to get another one before the green card interview.

Thanks.

If your medical exam from the K-1 was marked as having all vaccinations complete and not having any of the conditions that require a new medical in the states (you're from the UK, so you almost certainly don't have one of those), you're good.

We got recommended for approval yesterday after our interview. CO asked questions about how we met, how long we dated, which of us proposed to the other. CO asked for pictures of our wedding/dating/married life together. She looked through them and gave them back. At the end of the interview she asked for any evidence (bank statements, 2018 taxes, employment verification, etc.) and then she said she was recommending for approval. Overall it was a very simple process. Interview was at 12:15pm and we got called back at 12:20pm and we were out at 1pm.
