Hey,

I was planning on using Air canada as the airline to come with my approved k1 visa to the US. Now im researching and seeing that while traveling through canada they have their own ETA and also that you clear US costums right in toronto. Does that mean i need to plan in more time for my connecting flight because they are gonna check my k1 visa in toronto?

Has anyone expierence from traveling from international via canada to the USA with an approved k1 visa?

Cheers,

Darline

Yes plan extra time as you will go through customs/immigrations and pre-clear in Canada. Depending on how busy it is can take an hour extra or more. Probably give yourself a 4-5 hour window between flights.

Unfortunately, even US Green Card Holders require an ETA to transit through Canada.  We were recently made aware of this requirement during a trip TO Taiwan which would have connected in Vancouver.....😡
