Hello all,

My husband and I are fairly new to this web site, but from reading different posts, you all have been very helpful. I just had a couple of quick questions so if anyone can answer any of these questions, please do.

My husband is here on a K-3 Visa, and we filed for I-130 in August 2005(Still haven't gotten anything yet) He had his biometrics appointment this week for the EAD. We are waiting to get it in the mail stating he was approved so we can file for a SS# and he can start work. My question is when do we file for Adjustment of Status? Is that the only other thing we need to do or is there other paper work we are going to have to file just to keep him down here and legal. I know this is a silly question, but what exactly does the I-130 do for him? Any help is appreciated. He and I are newbies to this whole process :P

Thank you

Your husband files for adjustment of status when the I-130 is approved. He has two years legal status inside the US starting from the date he first entered on the K-3 visa. He doesn't need to file for adjustment of status within that two years status to keep his status legal.

The I-130 is a petition to classify an alien as a relative of a legal permanent resident or US citizen.

I have a question....My wife is currently waiting on the packet from the embassy for the I129F and we already have the I130 approved as of 22-Mar-06. I'm confused on the process at this point. I understand that the I129F is to get her here to wait on the approval of the I130....Now what happens with the sequence of happenings? Do we go ahead an file for an adjustment of status? Do we get the interview date moved up for the I129F? Or just wait until 18-May-06 for the interview and continue with current course? Boy am I lost!!!

Thanks in advance for you help on this!!
