Hi all! I am currently in the process for doing this AOS for my wife. We received an RIE today for the petitioners tax returns. I am a medical student and have not been working, and included a letter explaining my lack of income and school transcripts for evidence. My father is joint sponsoring and he makes well above the poverty level. We included all his tax returns and income letter from his employer.

my question is, what else could they be asking for? I found a W2 form for me that I didn’t previously submit, but it was only for about 300$. I was planning on submitting that as well as writing a more detailed letter.... thoughts? Thanks for the help!!

You have to submit your tax returns or a letter saying why you were not required to file tax returns even if you have a joint sponsor.

Yes the thing is I already did do that! I sent a letter initially saying that I was a student and that my income was lower than the IRS threshold. That’s why I’m so confused!
