Family first preference visa questions

Hello everyone.

So we’re Jamaicans. my father, little brother and I, (he’s 15 and I’m 20)are both being filed for by my grandma (petitioner) and a sponsor because my grandma is unemployed. We’ve received our interview date, and we scheduled our medical. I already read about a lot of experiences pertaining the medical. So I know what to expect. My only worry is the interview at the embassy. I have a few questions, could anyone who has experience or might know please assist me.

1. Since it’s 3 of us, my father is the primary applicant and we’re derivatives, do we all have to have individual copies of the affidavit of support, Ds-260, Proof of citizenship of our sponsor?

2. I speak with my grandma atleast 2-3 times a month on the phone, the only evidence I have of our relationship is a few pictures of me and her and my brother. Will that be enough?

3. And is it possible for us to be denied because they think our sponsor cannot subsequently financially support us ?

4. Do we have to sign up for courier service before or we can do it at the embassy?

Lastly any advice or tips that would be very important for the success of our case.

Thanks in advance

Yes. Her I-864 should show income or salary or paycheck alone if sufficient, or through a combination of income and assets. In order for the assets to qualify they must be readily convertible to cash within one year, without great hardship or financial loss to their owner. Examples of assets that can be used to assist with meeting the requirements are stocks and bonds, cash in bank, house, car, land or pension. Most petitioners will have to show that their assets are five times the value of the required amount. Getting a Joint Sponsor is another option; they also fill out an I-864. Only USCs and LPRs can be Joint Sponsors.

Does not matter. Just show evidence that your father is her son and that you are your father's child (e.g. birth certificates, etc.).
