dear friends I am very confused about those I-864 and I-864A. My wife's income isnt eneough to support me so we will ask for my wife father to be our co- sponsor so my wife's father which form should he fill out? Can we choose one of those I864 & I864A? Does it make any difference when we choose one of those forms? We currently live with my wife's parents.

Thanks

Your wife must fill out I-864, and if you wish your parents income to be included on that as household members, then they need to fill out I-864A. Note household members are different than joint sponsors, they do not need to fill out a separate I-864.

The I-864 needs to be filled out by your wife if you are going to count your alls in come and if not in the instructions they sent me it said if you were going to count yours or not you still had to fill it out.

The I-864a needs to be filled out by sponser that makes enough by the guidelines for 2006 past 3yrs taxes for you and your sponser, Work letter or recent pay stub from work to prove still working. I think thats it but I can't remember all needed. It has check list.
