Hi guys,

I have read some posts saying that they got GC without interview?

Is it possible? What determines whether they call you for an interview or not?

I am just curius:)

It happens often, no rhyme or reason for what determines their decision to do that.

Some have received their unconditional green card without ever having had an interview. What the criteria are no one knows!

They will receive an unconditional one only if the marriage cert shows married for more than 2 years.

And some people have been issued an unconditional green card with out ever having an interview to determine the validity of their marriage. I find this incredulous in light of other USCIS requirements.

Just a note that often times it is the AOS' that were sent to CSC that get approved without an interview... That is not to say that if your case is transferred to CSC that you will definatly not have an interview.

Do you mean if you are changin your status from some kind of visa (h1, f1 etc..) to GC, there is possibility that USCIS doesnt require any interview?

Well as you see my timeline, my husband was one that received his green card without interview. We waitted a year and half and then recieved and e-mail saying case was approved, I told my husband, "get ready for the interview" since I didn't know that such thing could happened. The same week we received the green card on the mail. We were shock.

I also hearded that if you don't get an interview for your AOS you will get it when you do the lifting of conditions (I-751). I'm not saying this is true, but let see what happens with my husband's process.

If you didn't enter the US on a K-1 (or maybe a K-3) visa, then you WILL almost certainly have an interview.

My hubby and I had no interview. Last Friday we received the e-mail notice saying our I-485 was approved, when the letter arrived two days later it said his card would expire in ten years. We are waiting for it to arrive to see what it says exactly, but the letter said 10 years. Don't know why, we were both waiting and expecting the interview. Who knows.
