Hey all,

I've been in daytona beach for a while now but since have not found any nigerian food stores. does any one here live in daytona beach and knows any nigerian or african food stores???. If not in daytona beach, then miami or orando (i don't mind driving all the way). Please ill appreciate if ya'l can forward me stores/addresses/ phone numbers. Ive searched all over, phone books/ internet, etc but have found nothing.

Also, if anyone here from cameroon who knows where i can get "MIONDO" from around daytona beach side or around, ill really appreciate it.

thanks all,

sarah

Hello

We went to Orlando and found some pounded yam and palm oil at a Caribbean shop( there were afew stores there).....and we had a contact where we got huge thing of Gari and seeds to make Egusi and some other soup....the only bad thing was that we had to buy bulk.....they had alot of items though that they keep at a storage facility.

There was an international store here is Sanford....owned by some nice people from Senegal, but it must have just closed(no longer there.. There is a place in Sanford where you can eat curried goat.

Here are some shops in Orlando you can try.....for pounded yam, goat meat, palm oil...not sure what you are looking for :)

glad to help, my husband went thru the same withdrawls....he still dreams about having bitterleaf soup....call those places and see....otherwise go to them and if you do not see what you are looking for...we asked the shoppers...most of the stores are owed by asians or middle easterns and they might not have a clue what you are talking about.....we had gone to 5-6 shops before we hit the jackpot :)

I can try and get you a contact for gari, and seeds for soups....but they only sale in bulk...we paid $94 for a big bag of gari and 2 boxes of different seeds.....good luck :)

JamesSarah,

why don't you pm me and i'll try and get you some few places in miami. I dont know the addresses but i know the locations. If you're also interested, there is a thriving nigerian community in miami, with many activities you may be interested in.
