so lets see...in the last month or so there's been South Dakota with a full ban on abortion, even in cases of rape or incest...a county in Michigan that wants to ban public gathering, because somebody complained about a Pagan festival, Virginia wants to add itself to the list of states to constitutionally ban gay marriage...Now Missouri wants a state sanctioned religion. I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting.

As I said to my husband yesterday "land of the free? HMPH!"

It's very scary, isn't it... :(

It's idiotic. At the same time, we send our soldiers to die for the very freedoms that these bigots are trying to take away from the people in this very country. I swear, it's just a question of time before the first person that converts away from Christianity is put on trial around here. Our very own Abduhl Rahman, so to say.

The ATB's (American Taliban Bastards) make my blood boil.

Bro-Dean, you're in Missouri, no? If so, we gotta get you outta there quick-like!!!

Scary sh#t!

no sister fraces, just work there..live across the river in illinois....

missouri is a strange state, where folks in most parts, around the cities of st louis, kansas city and columbia are more moderate...and the rural areas...more reactionary conservative especially on religion..

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

What about Florida, the State where - as the Cuban people say - "The sun shines on everybody"?

Let's not forget the great entrepreneur, the Pizza Man billionaire Tom Monaghan, who has a 200m plan to build the first town in the US to be run according to strict Catholic principles? It will be called "Ave Maria". His

idea is to create a community for 35,000 people - including 5,000 students at a new university - in which, for example, cable television is controlled so there is no pornography, and there are no places where an abortion can be carried out.... ( (no abortions and no porno? That's gonna be one empty University  )

My guess is, in a few years this whole town will be blown away in a steamy Florida vote tampering/drug running/child molestation/land fraud and hurricane-blown toupees

Sometimes I think I know everything, and I regain consciousness. Seen it all, done it all, forgot most of it....

So much plenitude, yet so much emptiness

In fact I predict a black market will pop up in Missouri, a blossoming underground trade where merchants ship the goods in that folks want but are deemed "evil" by the State (condoms??), and the merchants will probably make a packet out of it, too. Does anyone want to go halves on a Ford Transit Van?

No abortion, no cable porn, catholic universities perhaps? Actually, there is already such a place in Europe. Population: 380,000. Actually, Malta goes one better....even divorce is illegal. Missouri legislators may want to pay a visit for some inspiration..

So, you foresee the various condom cartells and condom pushing gangs getting into turf wars in Missouri?

Missouri legislators in Jefferson City considered a bill that would name Christianity the state's official "majority" religion.

House Concurrent Resolution 13 has is pending in the state legislature.

Many Missouri residents had not heard about the bill until Thursday.

Karen Aroesty of the Anti-defamation league, along with other watch-groups, began a letter writing and email campaign to stop the resolution.

The resolution would recognize "a Christian god," and it would not protect minority religions, but "protect the majority's right to express their religious beliefs.

The resolution also recognizes that, "a greater power exists," and only Christianity receives what the resolution calls, "justified recognition."

What the f**k does this really do? It's like voting on the state bird or flower. Is it closing other religions down or tossing non-christians in jail, I don't think so. So Missouri will have license plates with "Praise The Lord State" printed on them, big deal. The Anti-defamation league and the rest of those bonehead organizations should try helping that guy in Afghanstan, than stirring up s**t about something like this.
