Here is a question for you buddies (specially the one with similar process visa )  -K1  FIANCE VISA -, I am a little confused here ,I did a lot of reading and a lot of researches  ONLY TO GET MORE CONFUSED 😣  ,for one ,I learnt that once the case is transferred from NVC to the local consulate in Casablanca ,the consulate WILL CONTACT THE BENEFICIARY BY EMAIL with interview date and instructions for medical exams and such, right !   this according to the website on uscis.gov and affiliated websites for casablanca consulate as well,it is mentioned that the consulate WILL  make the contact ,ok   now  I keep reading and hearing about scheduling  interview on your own and fill ds 160 form and many other stuff , bear in mind there s a difference between application for non-immigrant  visa and immigrant visa ,those are totally two different process, ,OK,here is my question  ONE ;  our petition  I 129F  FOR K1  FIANCE VISA  is approved and transferred  TO CASABLANCA  on 08/15/2018  ,it is deemed to expire on 11/10/2018 ,we have not heard any updates ,we tried sending emails and phone calls, you all know the same old story , now ,am i supposed to just wait for them to contact my fiance!?  (and that s what my lawyer said  ,  just wait) also in their automated email they mentioned  they will automatically extend any petition to cover for the lost time ,but for how long ..my other question is it normal for interviews to take more than a month to be scheduled ?  please advice if you were or had a similar visa process ,thank you !

Casablanca has been very slow to schedule K1 interviews recently. I would keep emailing them once a week or so. They will automatically extend your petition since they are at fault for the delay. And the beneficiary can already complete the DS-160 now, you don't need to wait until you have the interview date.

Hi RjandHamid

Thank you! So are you saying that I should fill Ds160  without waiting for the consulate to ask me to do so?

They may contact the petitioner by email for the medical exam notice

meanwhile you can get the 2 police reports done

obtain a Fiche Anthropometrique and a Casier Judiciaire from the Central Police station in your home town

as i said to another don't worry that the one expires in 90 days as ours was outdated when finally interviewed

but do them late October as all October is filled for interviews

Everyone sent in August is waiting

the backup started in September

if you do not already know, Casa is hard on K1 interviews so use this time to prepare

you say you have done a lot of reading but have you read the embassy reviews and gone thru the list of possble questions

read as many of the former pages here that u can

get your info from the ones who have succeeded

Casa takes this very serious so you must do the same

as they only approve 8 K1 in July and 0 in August

and they do 12 interviews a day from 8 AM to 11 AM

one every 15 minutes

Thank you! So are you saying that I should fill Ds160  without waiting for the consulate to ask me to do so?

Here is some information that I can share with you. It may not be entirely complete but it gives you a place to start.

Once you get a case number, you can fill out the DS 160 online. Print the confirmation page for this once completed.

Once it says "Ready" that means you email the consulate and request an interview. Include your name, fiancés name, case number and that you're looking to schedule a K1 Fiance Visa interview. I heard they'll email you back within 2 weeks or so but I heard back the same day I sent the email.

When they email you back they'll tell you when your appointment is. Attached will be packet 3. Includes a list of doctors to choose from for the medical, your rights and your appointment letter. At that point - just get your papers together. My fiancé got his police records in a week. Court records same day. The celibacy letter the same day. And birth cert in the same day. Once he had them, he dropped them off to be translated. Picked them up in a week. Already you're at 2 weeks for gathering the fiancé's paperwork. On top of that make sure your fiancé sends you their documents (I-134, proof of relationship, taxes, pay stubs, letter from employer, an updated letter of intent..).

You are a K-1 which is a non-immigrant with intentions to immigrate visa requiring the completion of the DS-160.

You cannot complete the DS160 until they send you a certain number with which you can log on to the website.

When my now husband had his k1 interview in Casablanca I emailed 2-3 times a week reminding them of the upcoming deadline and the interview request. They got back to me after emailing for 5 weeks.

If you have been emailing and your deadline is approaching they will extend the deadline out.

Also remember unless you're in a regional forum you need to speak English so others can benefit from info you are providing

Then it sounds like the embassy schedules K1 the same as in 2009 for ours

you need patience

just do as the embassy says when u r notified

you were notifed by NVC in 3rd quarter so u should be expecting a 4th quarter interview
