Eek. That's not good 😕

Funny, I was just thinking of asking you the same thing! Coastal Maine. You?

It seems we have very similar timelines so it would be great to see how you get on?! :)

Maine is beautiful! We’ll be moving back to Orlando, FL (we met at Disney World). ☺️

We do indeed! We’re nearly at the end of the tunnel now. We’re going to try expedite once we get to NVC (should hopefully be within the next few days).

Absolutely! That sounds like a good idea.

4 months isn’t too bad! I’ve heard Montreal is one of the most backed up embassies. Apparently from CC it can be up to 4 months before you get an interview date.

Where are are you moving to in the US? :)

4 months is hardly most backed up.  Mexico is 8 months.  Many countries are similar to that.  Also it takes at least 1-2 months to change consulates/embassies plus you have to fly to London, then from London to the USA. I'm not sure the extra expense of flights would really make it worth it but your choice obvs.

Maine sure is beautiful. I'm sure Disney has its own beauty too haha.

Wishing you the very best journey with this whole process. :)

1-2 months? Surely it wouldn’t take that long considering NVC haven't received my case yet or assigned a case number. Montreal embassy is still 7 hours away from me and flights from Orlando into the UK are relatively cheap so it would balance itself out.

I’m also requesting to expedite it once they receive it anyway so that should speed up how it’s directed to London.

Well they will automatically assign you the MTL case number and then will have to change it.

But you don’t get a case number for 3-6 weeks. So if you contact them straight away once they receive it surely it can easily be adjusted before it’s assigned.

Until you have a case number they generally cant do anything related to your case.

Worst you can do is try right?! Best of luck!

From past experience with reading in this forum of people who changed to London consulate. They did not change case numbers. London can adjudicate a MTLxxxxxxxxx file if they get a transfer case with a MTL number.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see haha. I’m putting in a expedite request once at NVC so they’ll have to somehow figure out how to send it to London. Guess time will tell. 😝
