Cell phone

My wife has her biometrics appointment and consular interview in Santo Domingo. I know that cell phones aren't allowed in either center (Embassy or VAC). Is there a place where she can store it for a fee? She has to have it to travel and won't have anywhere to put it outside of the buildings.  Thank you for your help.

I believe I read there are possible security boxes outside of the embassy? When's her interview? I'll know for sure when we go to ours.

Outside the embassy there is group of people (informal) on the corner, that will hold on to your cellphone for a small fee, they give you a number, and with that number you can retrieve it after you are done. The embassy does not provide any sort of storage.

 

In the VAC (Galerias 360) if I'm not mistaken there is a small place, 2 places to the left of the VAC, that has lockers, you pay a small fee and return to collect it when you are done.

 

I went to the VAC yesterday, I just left my cellphone in the car. For the embassy, I'll be taking an uber and will leave it outside  with the people that are on the corner.
