They may or may not discover his charge. It won't impact you so long as you have no involvement with the case.

 

As for why they ask, it's because they want to know. Maybe they are checking for terrorist links? Maybe they are just building a database of relationships in the event that a security issue is discovered and they want to investigate?

Maybe it has no meaning at all. But if you aren't involved then it won't hurt you.

Thanks so much, it was so reassuring! I was just afraid that if it could give a bad impact to my case anyhow! But I’m okay now and yes I’m not involved not even a bit lol. 💕🙏🏻

If someone filed a murder case (FIR) against your brother, and of course you provide his info on the ds5535, there's an outside possibility the US may want to have a sniff into an FIR of a murder suspect whose sibling is awaiting a US immigrant visa. 

 

Overall, it should not have a direct effect on your visa.
