Children of K1

Hello,

 

If the children of K1 ARE NOT to come to USA at the same time with K1, does beneficiary/K1 still have to bring the children's birth certificates to the interview?

I assume that only the children traveling with the K1 parent need to supply a birth certificate. I just sent the package to my fiancé and our intent is to only have the birth certificate of the child traveling. We will file a DS-160 under the "follow to join" option for her older child at a later date, which will then require us to provide all of the documentation for him.
