Hi guys .. ppl who are applying for N400 base on k1 visa .. do they get combo interview ?

What do you mean? People who arrived on the K1 first applied for their AOS/green card, then 2 years later for their ROC, and 3 years later for N-400. Whether you came on a K1 or on an ESTA or you were already here on work/student visa or you were here on an overstayed visa doesn't affect your ROC or N-400 case since you already got your green card! But yes, if you check people's timelines in this group, there are PLENTY of people who originally came in with a K1 visa and now had a ROC/N-400 combined interview.

In most cases it's a combo interview. But noone really knows it ahead of time since the letter is only for an n400 interview. Make sure to ask/remind your officer at the beginning of your interview that your ROC is also pending! Good luck!

Recommend Just viewed my oath ceremony letter online.

It’s  August 3rd at 1:00 pm in Montgomery Alabama.

Is there anyone has the same date?

My interview was last Friday June 7. I passed but my online status is still "we scheduled your interview". Is this normal? Los Angeles area. I still have 4 months left on my case completion. I think this is to drag my case until then. 🤪

Hi, guys. I had my N400 interview on June 5, 2019 and would like to share my experience. I originally posted this on I-751 October 2017 Filers but would like to repost it here since I had combo I-751 and N400 interview.

10:15 - Arrived, Checked-in.

11:30 - My name was called and the officer told my husband he can come in with me. I only had my N400 interview appointment with me and had no interview scheduled for I-751/ROC.

The officer was really nice, he explained that we were going to have 2 interviews, the first is for I-751/ROC and another one for N400. The officer asked for our passports, state IDs and my green card. Unfortunately my actual passport wasn't with me and gave him a copy instead. Also,  I wasn't asked for any other documents.

Questions asked to me:

What's your legal name? When is your birthday? What is your address? What is your Country of Citizenship and Country of birth? Do you have kids?

Questions asked to my husband and I:

Is this your first marriage? Do you have kids? How did you meet? Where do you work? How many times have you traveled outside the US in the past 4 years? Did you travel with each other?

Then we proceeded with N400 Civics and English Test and the officer told my husband not to coach me. And yes, my husband stayed with me the whole time. I got the first 6 questions right and the officer congratulated me for passing the test, however, he said I would have to wait for my I-751/ROC approval which should take 2-3 weeks.

I checked my status online when I got home. N400 status is still "Interview was Scheduled" and my I-751/ROC status changed to "New Card is Being Produced". I am hoping it means approval...

Another waiting game but still grateful that our interview went great today. We're almost there!

I am now waiting for my Oath ceremony schedule. You can check my timeline below for new updates on my case.  Hope this helps and Good luck to everyone!

I filed in the first week of October 2018 in Los Angeles and still waiting for an interview date. When is/was your interview date? My case completion time initially was July 2019 but was changed to October 2019 a couple of weeks ago.

Nice! When did they notify you that it would be on June 7? Was your estimated time always October 2019? Any thoughts on why some may get an earlier interview date?

I got the interview notification and letter last April. My estimated time was 11 or 12 months. Now it’s showing a remainder of 4 months which will be in Oct. My husband applied 2 years ago and he was done with everything in 6 months. The processing time nowadays is really frustrating.  Are you applying based on 5 yrs residency?
