Wow! Congratulations. You got your oath ceremony on the same day you passed your interview? Awesome, that's so cool. :)

Fortunately!!! The officer told me that I can opt for a later naturalization ceremony but I opted to get day off. Didn't want to wait any longer.

There were around 50+ people from 28 countries at my Oath ceremony last week. It was surreal.

After I got the naturalization certificate, I went immediately to my municipal office and applied for a US passport. The process is easy as long as you have all the documents in hand. You would need to submit the naturalization certificate to them. Hopefully in 4 weeks, I have my new US passport in hand. They will return the naturalization certificate as well.

Additionally, USCIS does recommend to give 10 days after the naturalization ceremony to update your citizenship with the Social Security office.

Good luck to everyone!!!

Hey everyone, how long do I have to wait to get an approval after my interview, I've been waiting for 3 weeks, my receipt says " congratulations.." the officer told me to wait a week to get my ceremony scheduled, until now nothing. My case still shows " interview scheduled ". My friend from same state just got her interview last Friday and today got her ceremony scheduled. I have a feeling that they forgot about my case.

Congratulations Nick! I was two rows behind you! I tried calling your name when you stood up for Russia, but you didn’t reply, so I wasn’t 100% it was you! I think you were the proudest person in the room!

Good luck to everyone else still waiting. The end is close and I’m sure will be here before you know it!!

Question for the men: what did you wear to the interview? Did you wear a suit or a dress shirt/dress pants?

You should bring, specially the most recent and updated ones. The IO during my interview asked about our 2018 tax filing and most recent joint bank account statement. Good luck!
