Congratulations on getting over the immigration finishing line. :)

You didn't have to wait too long between interview and oath... nice.

@NewYorker14Hey! Can you check your status? I received a notice that I'm scheduled for interview and I have the interview letter in my application as well.

I checked but there are no updates on my case. Good luck to you! You are almost there. Did you apply on the 5 year rule (that is how I applied I am a 5 year GC holder) or did you marry a US citizen and applied after 3 years?

I had my interview one day after you March 12, 2019 in San Bernadino, CA. I got approved the same day as well but was told the Oath Ceremony for March 26th in Ontario, CA is full. So I'm still waiting for my oath to be scheduled. Hopefully I will be scheduled for the April 23, 2019 Oath Ceremony in Los Angeles.

I will post back when my oath will be scheduled.

Vielen Dank.

This is for Germans Citizens only. At least my BBG (petition to keep the German Citizenship) was approved after waiting for 8 month. Now that process can take 9 - 12 month.

Did you do the BBG?

Is anyone else a Los Angeles filer?  If so, has anyone had any movement?  Thanks

Filed 1-751: 12/30/17

1-751 received: 1/2/18

Transferred to NBO: 12/20/18

Still pending

Do you mean the Beibehaltungsgenehmigungsantrag....? I sent it through the German Consulate in NY and it has to be approved and picked up before the the Oath Ceremony. Should this not happen in order I would lose the German passport....

In hindsight I should have done the Beibehaltungsgenehmigungsantrag first and then apply for the US citizenship, but I actually did it after the Biometrics... So lets see how it goes...

How did you wait 8 month and now it is another 9 month?

Yes I'm talking about the Beibehaltungsgenehmigung (BBG). I submitted my BBG via the German Consulate in Los Angles May 02, 2018 and was told it will be sent on to Köln, Germany . Then got an email from the L.A. Consulate on June 12, 2018 that it arrived in Köln and the Aktenzeichen is xyz.. It said the current processing time is 6 month for the BBG.

Once I got the interview letter for the N400 on February 5, 2019 I emailed the German Consulate in Los Angeles and a copy to the BVA in Köln Germany asking about the status of my BBG. The consulate just said you have to wait and they will not do anything until you have an Oath date. Then they could issue an "Eil Antrag" fast track for the BBG.

However, later in the evening i received an email back from the BVA in Köln, Germany that my BBG has been approved and will be sent with the next currir to the Los Angeles consulate. I picked it up in L.A on February 27th, 2019. The Consulate said the current wait times to get the BBG aproved is about 9 - 12 month.

There are several forums for the BBG such as Yahoo Zwei Paesse and the Facebook Group Dual Citizenship/Doppelte Staatsbuergerschaft (DE-USA)

Hope BBG will not take so long.

Thank you! Please let me know when your case updates.  I also applied via 5 year rule so I'm hoping we're gonna finish this almost at the same time!
