same as ever . where I met my wife. personal information. how often did he travel? where work. the new evidence which I brought with me, no one picked up I have not one page. it was hurtful. then they said maybe you're not doing the interview and we'll just give you the green card. and the officer said that would show my case to the supervisor. I was very upset . but after 3 hours I went to McDonald's and decided to check my case. first I checked the 751 form . and was surprised that she approved. and the map was ordered for me. then with fear I checked the case 400 and saw that everything there has changed and they added me to the queue for oath

I bet it will be. :)

I got a quick response to my inquiry and wasn't expecting anything more. About 1.5 weeks before the interview, I got the formal i-751 interview letter which lists the evidences needed. I then freaked out as I didn't have 3 years of tax transcripts (they wanted that as well as returns) as it said failure to bring them could result in denial.

As it was, the transcripts weren't requested during the interview and arrived 2-days after. But, if I'd had them I could have saved myself extra anxiety. So if you're in the same boat, might be an idea to get them.

Good luck!

OK INTERVIEW OVER - RESULT - RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL!

Tampa office was really busy. I got there 30 minutes before my appointment time, got my number and quickly found out that regardless of number or appointment time, they go in no particular order. The two different ladies I set next to in the waiting room had been there for over an hour past their appointment time. They were calling out numbers in the 40's when I arrived (mine was 75). One lady had something like 59, but my number was called before hers!

As for the interview, my officer seemed one of the happier ones. I cracked a few nervous jokes with him and made small talk, which he was fine with. He was an immigrant from Poland, so that was cool to relate to him a little bit about the journey. He started with a few basic questions about me, my wife and how I started on the immigrant journey. He also asked her full name, where we met, when how we started dating, very simple, nothing strenuous. Then moved onto the civics questions. The questions I got were:

Who becomes president if the president is incapacitated?

When do we celebrate Independence Day?

How many Supreme Court justices?

Capital of my state?

Who becomes president after president and Vice President?

Who was the 50th president? - trick question!

Then he moved onto the YES/NO questions from the application. All were rapid fire, I think he went quicker since my first language is English. But still, all simple and easy. When he asked if I would be able to pledge the oath I said "Yes, please when can do we do it?" His reply was....."well I have to approve you first (with a smile)!"

The English test was read " WHO LIVES IN THE White House" and write "THE PRESIDENT LIVES IN THE White House" THE IPADS you have to write on are pretty awful, but they sufficed and he wasn't bothered about poor handwriting. I also had to sign a couple of boxes about reading the oath, as well as a couple of small changes he made to my application.

All quite simple. He didn't ask to see anything extra I brought, including my wifes birth certificate or marriage certificate. He did question if our daughters birth certificate was in there, because he couldn't see it in the file. But then he found it.

He kept talking to himself as he was scrolling through the application on his screen saying, yes, yes, good, good....... Then he printed off the paper and said "Congratulations"!! These were the best words I've been waiting for and was super happy to hear! I asked when the oath ceremony might be, and he said usually within a couple of weeks of the interview.

Now, I'm sitting back, relaxing, drinking a Mojito celebrating. As much as I want the oath ceremony to happen right away, it's finally relaxing knowing that its actually coming!

Good luck to everyone else waiting. It will happen. It will come. It's A LOT easier than you're expecting.

Wow! Asking questions outside of the study list scares me. Sure, the trick question is super easy and may even be a bit funny, but can also throw people off when nervous and just simply feel unprofessional, wrong, and totally unfair to ask anything outside of the questionnaire...

I'm glad it went well. Congrats!

To be fair, I answered all of the questions within .01 of a second of him asking them. Then when he asked me the trick question he smiled as he asked it and when I answered he laughed a little. I think he was just trying g to have a little fun.

I'm not saying that you were thrown off or I would be. I just find it unprofessional and unfair and wrong OUT OF PRINCIPLE. An officer is not there to 'have a little fun' when it comes to your immigration. Sure, it is important that they are nice and it is good if they help you feel at ease, and help you instead of being jerks. But this is serious that an important part of your life depends on it. Even if let's say you are thrown off and get confused and they go "ok, this was just a funny, trick question, here is a REAL one", it is wrong. On the other hand, from another perspective,  getting such an easy "trick" question that is super 'duh' and funny, is super unfair to other applicants who may get one of the hardest questions from the list... I know it is anyways a somewhat unfair process, some get nice officers, others get ones in a bad mood who don't like you.... But still. Simply OUT OF PRINCIPLE it is wrong. I would find it wrong if it happened to me even if I answered it in less than .01 seconds and laughed it off with a cool as bananas officer. Because it is unfair on so many levels. There are set questions and a study guide for a reason and it is incredibly unprofessional and unfair to all applicants to move away from in any case with any applicant.

Most people get the date within 48 hours - it'll be on your documents tab but you'll get it in the mail too.
