I was going to give my opinion but I was hoping for someone who has sat the test to confirm. @jefferyd Can you help sir? :)

Here's my view anyway! I'm not planning on taking two passport style photos to the interview, only because...

  1. I can't find anywhere that it's requested
  2. I'm off to Walgreens after my interview to get 2 pics done so I can apply for my USA passport (doing that asap after the oath ceremony  - need the certificate for the passport application)
That's going to cost around $15, so I only want to do it once. I know it doesn't sound like a lot of money, is more the faff of getting the photos done correctly and sized right. I am hopeless trying at home, takes forever and I don't want to muck about. :)

Thank you for your input! This makes a lot of sense.

Ok yea I wont get the passport photos done for the Interview because yea i agree with you. I cant find anywhere where it says we need it.

I wouldnt even bother trying to take the passport photos myself lol. Do people even do that? I would 100000% mess it up if i did it myself.

Just found this. Looks like USCIS did away with asking candidates to bring 2 passport photos back in 2016:

https://citizenshipnews.us/n/499/N-400-applications-no-need-to-send-photos-any-more

But I think having a dig around the official site to verify this might be a good idea.

Does anyone know or have any experience with info pass appointments? My local is Philadelphia and they literally never have appointments online. It doesn’t help that they only show 14 days. Do they reset at a certain time or on a certain day, is there a best time to check? Trying to get a stamp in my passport as it’s looking like I won’t have an approval until next January and my extension letter only gives me until this June.

Darn it, I'm going to get them too now. I had a dig around on VJ and found a thread from 2017 where an understandably frustrated poster reported that his wife received an RFE at her N400 interview, because they didn't bring passport photos.

USCIS says that you only have to provide photos at point of application IF you reside overseas. And your pic is taken at biometrics. This person's wife didn't fall into the criteria of needing to have photos, but their case got delayed by weeks.

I guess either the IO was working with out-of-date info, or perhaps there was an issue with the photos taken at biometrics. But given my research, I'm now going to err on the side of caution and find a CVS or Walgreens.

If anyone here has recently sat the interview and can chime in, that would be great!

I read someone's account of being asked for the photos at the Buffalo field office, which is where I did my interview two weeks ago.  They didn't ask for photos.  They did take one of me at check in, and scanned my fingerprints, but I assumed that was just to check that I matched the biometrics they took at my bio appointment.

Thanks! Good to know they didn't ask for photos. Wasn't expecting to have my photo taken again at arrival, but that's not a problem, I'll be in my Sunday best. :)

I don't have too much faith in that wait time estimator.  Last week mine said estimated completion time- 5 months, even though my oath ceremony is a month from today.  And I just went and checked and it has changed from 5 months to "We are taking longer..."   So take it with a grain of salt, maybe.

okay, thank you. It changed back from the message they posted yesterday to "8 months".

Either way I scheduled a infopass in case i dont hear anything by next march 6

I wanted to tell my story. this week on Monday I called customer service . and I didn't hear anything new . after I was assigned a call back from the officer at the second level . he called me back at 8 PM . she was very polite . and she said there's no change in my case. on Tuesday I went to the info meeting . there I showed the receipt that the officer gave me at the interview . and I pointed to item number 4, which says that I can ask my officer the status of my case.  and then the guy in the window told me we could leave a note for my officer . and he took a blue form and we filled it out . then it was handed over to my officer . so they said (((( already one month I went to the interview . and while online I see only old information. who has the same as me?

Hey! So I was on another website and I saw some filers were saying that their estimated wait time was changed to "We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time." instead of having the usual months left. I checked my status and it said the same thing, it no longer has estimated case completion is in "8 months". What about you? I am freaking out right now.

Hey! It happened to me too earlier and I just checked it went back to my estimated completion time.
