Passed my interview this morning. Got the first six questions right so those were all I was asked. They're short on attendees for the oath ceremony on Thursday so asked if I'd "volunteer" for that one instead of waiting a month. Um, yes. I would very much like to be done. So by Thursday I'll be a citizen.

wow :) very nice! congratulations! I hope they ask me if i'd like to volunteer too! get it out of the way sooner! do you think it would hurt to ask them about that or should you just wait for the question? Im that type of person to ask for it xD

I asked the poster of he/she got transferred, (no response as yet) but your theory makes sense. My official case completion time started at 22 months and I think it's down to 18 months now but the field office processing times is between 6.5 and 13.5 months. Go figure! I think @nompish has a silly long lead time too.

If I'm still feeling this way by mid-Feb, and haven't heard anything, I'll probably make an Infopass to try and find out if my local office has my case(s) and what the state of play is. I last did this back in March (almost a year ago). Though it was sobering to hear that nothing was happening and wouldn't for the next year, it did set my expectations and I stopped hoping for news.

I would love to hear some good news from the people I've been on here with the longest. I'm hanging in.... :) :) :)

Yes that would be awesome! :D so for 6.5 months you'd need an interview notice pretty soon! wait a bit for the actual interview and then another little wait for the oath and that should put you around 6.5 months :D 13.5 months are porobably for those who maybe get an RFE or Reschedule the interview or Unable to pass the test.. etc.

My wife had her interview yesterday.  She's normally laid back and nonchalant about these type of things but she actually studied really hard for this and was pretty nervous.  So we get there and we get a number (like at a deli).  Not too much time goes by and a guy comes out and calls my wife by her last name (everyone else has been called by their #).  So he asks for both of us....we go back to the office and he says to me to sit on the chair closest to the door because he says you wont be staying long.  So then he says, you have 2 open cases....to remove your restriction for 10 year GC and N400.  So he says we are going to try to knock both out today.  I thought this was weird becuz if you become a citizen then whats the point about removing conditions?? I guess had she failed the N400 interview.  Anyway he asked for things like joint bank acct and/or other printed materials that had our names together....We totally hadn't prepared for that.  Fortunately I was able to pull up our geico insurance cards on my phone.  He said that will do it.  By the way he pulled out "our file" and it literally had every document we had ever sent USCIS.  Like all the way back from when we first filed for K1.  So he asks me to leave and my wife has her interview.  They asked her - Name a state the touches Canada, what war was in 1803, what year was the constitution written, what ocean is east of the US and 2 other fairly easy questions.  My wife said he was very nice and wasn't grilling for the answers.  He was like a friendly teacher who wanted to see her pass....if that makes sense.  He definitely didn't tell her the answers becuz she knew them, but she said like the Atlantic ocean question, he said, you know it's the ocean that's right here in Jacksonville. Then they asked the typical, have you recruited girls for prostitution, have you been a terrorist, are you of foreign nobility, etc.  Of course she answered truthfully no.  And that was it....maybe 15 minutes and he said a letter should come in a week or 2 regarding the swearing in ceremony.  My wife is due (pregnant) Feb 23rd, so he told her if she can't make it then she can just send something in, that it will be in the letter.  Hope that gives everyone here some insight....And hopefully we are done with visa journey and the uscis.  Thanks for all the help on here over the years!!  Some of you have given me tremendous advice.  I never paid a lawyer and did everything myself....so again THANK YOU!!!

Huge congratulations to you and your wife and thanks so much for posting the details. That's so helpful. Looks like you guys sat a combi interview, where the 10 year Green Card application needs to be approved before the citizenship test can go ahead. She may never get the physical GC as there's no need now that's she's a bona fide citizen. 🎈🎉🍾

And congratulations on the impending arrival of your little one. 👶

Congrats to all the members who have gotten their interviews.

Just put those of us in Houston, Texas in prayers. It's taking averagely 12-15months to get interviews.

Just hopeful it changes. Can't wait for this to be over. Just wanted to rant a bit. good luck everyone.

You've come to the right place to rant. ;) It does take such a long time for some of us... well, it feels like for most of us who are going down the combi route.

I'm not sure how to take the lead times, there's such conflicting information. Have you started studying yet?

No I haven't started studying. I have the app so I just play with it. And check the book in traffic.

The officer called my name at 11 am. Then he asked me to provide my green card. he escorted me to his office and introduced me to another person that will be observing my interview beside him.
The officer said he will be looking at the computer most of the time, and he will start with the civic questions;
what is the land of law mean? what is the name of the national anthem? what ocean on the west? what happened on 09/11? how old you have to be to vote for the president?

In case anyone was interested, I actually got asked the exact same questions as fores (from another thread), plus "Why does the flag have 13 stripes." So I'd assume the offices are all working off the same sheet (my interviewer had a few pages to pick from and it looked well-used).

Some immigration officer explained it on another thread some years ago that I think they have 10 different question sheets so it is not unusual that people get the same. My mom and stepdad were interviewed a few days apart at the same center and got different questions so there definitely are several versions :)
