If you can't get hold of complete transcripts, I think sending them in as they are along with the corresponding W-2s might help. You can also write in your covering letter what the IRS said about them being incomplete for privacy reasons. They do want to see the transcripts to show that you filed jointly. W-2s alone don't show how you filed your taxes, although they do contain your address and if it's the same as your spouse's then that's a win!

This is what I'm thinking I'm going to have to end up doing and hope that i don't receive an RFE. I think I've got enough evidence for them to see that the transcripts are linked to my wife and I. But its whether they bother to flip through the paperwork to make those connections.

I haven't submitted it yet so I don't know how USCIS will respond. But I'm planning on sending the transcript and a copy of the tax return I filed with HR Block. I was advised that details of the changes to the transcript have been communicated to other federal agencies. But I'm doubtful thats the case. Did you also get a transcript that didn't have your full names and address on it?

I had them mailed to me and got the copies last night. Had the same issue - the names and address are incomplete for privacy protection. It only has my partner's last name on it and the last four digits of our socials. Would that be sufficient? Hoping someone could give some insights on this.

I believe they recently changed the policies/rules. I initially downloaded the transcript back in July, it has all info on it. When I downloaded it last week, names are gone and only last 4 of SSNs are shown.

It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only one that has this issue with the transcript. I'm hopeful that when USCIS see this they will realize it's an actual policy change and not just petitioners trying to hide details or being careless with their evidence.

@Valor I am sure we'll be fine

Yep, I went back to the documents I have for my AOS and double checked the tax return I had that time. It has complete address and name on it. I'm just wondering, in this case, do we also have to make copies of our SSN to show that the last four digits match the ones on the transcript?
