Thank you. Ah, LIN is really taking forever so I won't be expecting my biometrics appointment letter anytime soon.

just want to mention about biometrics. We all hope that USCIS will reuse the old biometrics even we have paid the fee. Only some are receiving the notice to go for fingerprints. Some receive the notice that they don`t have to go again.

I was wondering: now ( 2018 )  I do believe USCIS is able to check the database - background check - in matter of minutes. So maybe if the system flags the applicant - let say that since last bio he/she was arrested or any other flag - this person must go for bio again. Or applicants they did not travel outside of US since last bio have to go again. Reason I am saying this is that every time I was returning from our trips I had to submit my bio ( fingerprints + photo ) at the machine at the POE. So maybe USCIS has and collects this data and can compare it and reuse it if necessary. Or determinate that is not necessary for the applicant to go again.

At least if I would have the technology this is what I would do. Frankly I would background check the spouse of the applicant during the process also even without them knowing it. Because if the spouse has been arrested or has some kind of record, there is a big chance that husband or wife has one too or maybe is somehow involved in it. I mean serious crimes not traffic violations. Especially if the are looking into non bona fide marriages.

I honestly just think that the service centers are backlogged and that is why most of the people in this forum have not done biometrics yet. It would be interesting to see how many people on this forum have their biometrics waived, but I won't get too comfortable with the idea that your biometrics have been waived until they tell you so.

I can tell you that my husband had his biometrics appointment at the beginning of December (his case is at the Vermont Service Center, which seems to be the only one actually sending out timely biometrics appointments, sadly) so I can respond to your inquiry about when someone would have biometrics waived. He has traveled outside the U.S. four times since he got his green card, and has never been arrested for anything or even gotten so much as a parking ticket in his whole life. Again, I think not knowing about biometrics yet is simply a matter of the backlog! Doesn't seem to be a discernable rhyme or reason to it.

Hello, I'm in the process of removing condition on residence to get my 10-year green card. My green card will expire in the middle of January and I have submitted my form I-751 since the end of October and got the confirmation that USCIS received our case in the beginning of November but I still haven't gotten the receipt. I read that it approximately takes 3-5 weeks to get the receipt. It's already been 8 weeks now and I'm getting nervous. Does anyone also experience the same thing? I filed at Texas Service Center.

How did you request non delivery of notice when you have to fill in the receipt number in order to do that? I'm just worried because my green card is expired in two weeks and I don't wanna be here illegally, especially that I have a job too. I'm going to call USCIS after the new year.

call uscis early morning monday and ask them your receipt number they will give it to you thats how i got my receipt number too you can try to get infopass appointment in your local USCIS office to get 12 month stamp on passport which will serve as your legal status i-551 stamp let them you have not got your notice you should carry your green card along with appointment printout details and on your appointment you might have to handover your green card to the office depending upon local uscis office procedure and if you do handover your green card then if in near future you do receive your 18month extension letter called noa1 notice then that notice would not be useful as it is only valid if you carry it along with expired green card but you might get lucky they might let you keep your green card so all depend upon officer or local uscis office so alot to think if out of staus think bothering you then get stamp on passport from your local uscis office

if not monday call tuesday wednesday thrusday but you should call and inquire about your extension letter and try place request to send it you either by calling or sending e request and in between these 2 options which one is best which one works and which one works faster i dont know it helped some by calling and asking to send it you for some helped via sending e request so i am not sure about that and last thing if you think you would be out of status then you can get 12 month stamp on passport which serve as legal status
