That is the thing, we have not received anything in the mail after filling for my husband. All I know is that we filled Oct 20 (technically Oct 25) is when we had sent it again after recalling it before they received it. They cashed the check 5 days after it was received at the lockbox facility in Dallas, TX

To this date, we have not received any information about whether they received it or not. No mail was sent.

I have not updated my timeline in a long time as I did not have any time to, will do when I get the chance later today.

did you not get a receipt letter either or any case number? we have not gotten anything so I should call USCIS then?

I believe most of us submitted the G-1145 form to get the text message or email. That is how most of us have the case # with the service center initials. And by knowing which service center your case is at, you should have a better idea on the timeline to expect.

If you didn’t submit the form for e-notification, I believe you can call and they should be able to find your case in the system having your information, including the USCIS A#.

Rooj, if you look back to my timeline, that's actually what happened to me as well. For some reason I forgot the G-1145 form but just like your scenario, I knew they cashed our check on Oct 19. I called USCIS on Nov 20 with only the A-number. Today is exactly 2 weeks after the call, and I have both the 18-month extension letter and biometrics appointment letter in hand.

Also, Dallas is only a place to mail the application to. I think a lot of cases are being transferred to Nebraska. I won't be surprised if yours is at LIN.

No matter what, call USCIS for sure!

The date that I put is the one that appears on the letter, although when I called USCIS they told me that they had sent it 10/5. My case has not been transferred to any other service center (my receipt starts with SRC) and I haven't received any notifications for biometrics. Actually, I just received an email from USCIS saying that there were no updates for my case. I can't wait for the day that I'm done dealing with USCIS lol

Wait have you got the NOA1 letter in the mail ?

I am at the Texas service center. They received my application November 1st, still no NOA or biometrics in the mail. Since I am today over the 30 days I will give them a call.

I am at Texas service center, my case file was received on 10/18/2018 got the text message with receipt # SRCxxxxxxxxx on 10/22/2018, till today no NOA in mail. I called for the third time today and I was lucky to be transferred to Tier 2, .....after long waiting, a lady came online and my wife spoke with her. She was so nice, told us that my NOA was mailed on 10/18/2018, and that I should have received it, we told her we didn't...She promised to send us another hard copy, she also advised to book an infopass appointment to get my passport stamped. We were advise to file complaint at our local Post Office, we did, we went there to lay complaint of the missing mail. She told me when I asked about if my fingerprint is scheduled or not, she said no and said further that, it is not everyone that would receive biometric appointment, she said they sometimes make use of the previous fingerprint. I hope this help others, please always insist to be transfer to Tier 2, the customer care we always speak with don't know much about individual case, but once transferred to Tier 2, she was able to really get into my case file and gave us a comprehensive details, it was a lot relief after the telephone conversation.

Yes, they said that they have already mailed me the notice (no date specified, but I understand early Nov.) and I should have received it by then (meaning late November). So they took a service request. I sounds like it depends on who you talk to on the phone. Perhaps you can give it another try. I remember someone else from this forum also had a similar notification from USCIS about duplicate notices.

They told me same today, as you rightly said, it depends on whom you spoke with, they promised to send me duplicate hardcopy via mail. She said it's government document and cannot be sent by email, however, she promised that I will receive an email to announce it's been sent for the second time. So of course they do send out duplicate.

Congrats! Fingers crossed for alexpop and everyone in this forum. You have a good mailman! I hope we will all receive it soon!

Some mail dispatcher are bad, so sad!!!, the Tier 2 we spoke with on phone said we need to file a complaint at our local post office, and when we got there, I mean at Post Office, the lady we spoke with said the mailman for that route has been fired....she didn't tell us reason why he was fired but she said the new dispatcher is a lady now for our zip code  . I noticed that though, the older young guy isn't coming anymore. We had bad experience with that mailman, he mostly drop our mail in our neighbor's mailbox, the neighbor always bring the mail knocking at our door, sometimes hang it at the door.....who knows if my uscis extension mail is on someone's dresser, that doesn't know it's value nor worth......I hope and pray the duplicate makes it to me.

I would not immediately fault the USPS system in many of our cases - odd instances of mail undelivered or not delivered may be possible but for almost all of us USCIS will say they have sent out the letter at a certain date (almost a couple of  weeks in the past) with no physical mail in our boxes. Also if the end mail man is a bum the informed delivery should at least show the mail on its way. I find it hard to believe that the Usps system is not working at so many levels for so many people across the country and only for their USCIS mails.

I think the USCIS computer systems are buggy - the officers seeing our cases can see a status wrongly reported as “letter sent” but in reality the physical letter may not have been sent.

I totally agree with Gaia.

I am registered for Informed Delivery and all the letters are being scanned at the Destination Processing Facility. So for instance I live in a suburb of Cleveland and before it's sent to my local postal office I would know that the letter is coming, if it does not get delivered then it's on the mailman.

The letters were never sent out. It's just a glitch in USCIS' systems. Letters are being issued and marked as sent but never got out of the Service Centers' mail room.

That's crazy when you have rights and Nobody still wants you to enjoy it.  You have to explain and prove it again and again.

Companies should be well informed and trained in immigration to give a chance to legal immigrants who show up with "weird " documents like a 18 month extension letter. Lol! They just don't want to put the work of verifying. They want you to take the burden of proving that it's valid. But how?

How did you deal with the social security administration after they rejected your stamp?

I brought their own policy printed from their webpage with the list of accepted documents, including the I-551 stamp. Then I asked for the supervisor and insisted, in the end I asked for a phone number I could call to confirm the instructions I had in hand were valid, so after I insisted a lot they asked for my expired EAD card and I gave them, and with the number from the EAD they were finally able to request my SSN through their system.  That was a renewal of the SSN though, just to remove the red stamp.

Hello Everyone,

I filed for my husband's removal of status on Oct 20 and we know that they cashed the check, however we have not yet received any kind of receipt number via mail and his removal is about to expire Jan 19. what should I do? should I call USCIS and find out what is going on? we sent the documents within the 90 days window (basically few days above Oct 20) via USPS to Dallas, TX and still have not received anything. me and my husband just had a baby and we just moved however I did not put our moving information as our permanent address is still my parent's place and our baby was only 1 month old when we filled and someone told me that it would be enough. I do not know what to do at this point. Should I call USCIS?

Thanks

Rooj

You should definetly call and say you didn't receive the notice and you should also change the address in your records with USCIS. BTW, I think they require 30 days.

Look what I found in the USCIS website: https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange

Quote

Penalties for Failure to Comply

A willful failure to give written notice to the USCIS of a change of address within 10 days of moving to the new address is a misdemeanor crime. If convicted, you (or the parent or legal guardian of an alien under 14 years of age who is required to give notice) can be fined up to $200 or imprisoned up to 30 days, or both. The alien may also be subject to removal from the United States. (INA Section 266(b)). Compliance with the requirement to notify the USCIS of any address changes is also a condition of your stay in the United States. Failure to comply could also jeopardize your ability to obtain a future visa or other immigration benefit.

You don't need to change your mailing address if your permanent address is at your parent's place.

We have the same situation. We always get our mails to my mom's house because we keep moving. So with the USCIS,  we have a steady mailing address: my mom's  and a physical address: where we are living now.

The i751 processing time is really long, and we might move again before our case is approved,  so my mom's address offers more guarantee and we never miss our mails.
