Congratulations! I saw in my USPS informed delivery today that I am receiving a mail from Vermont Service Center. I came home only to see that it's not in my mailbox. Does any one have experience with informed delivery? I was so disappointed.

Yeah, for sure they did not mail the letter.

I guess we have to wait. Hopefully it will come not that we called and put the service request. 

Tier 1 customer services reps are just reading scripts.

Most likely it will arrive tomorrow. It happens all the time. This week alone 3 out 5 days I did not receive letters that were scanned, but then I got them the following day .

Thank you Alex! This has been such an emotional roller coster for everyone. I will let you guys know what it's. I was able to secure an info pass in New York in mid Dec. I will hold on to it until I see what this letter is. I hope it's NOA, and I hope everyone gets theirs soon. It seems to me that now USCIS is at least starting mail things out (whether biometrics or NOAs).

I will ask my wife to call the USCIS Military Helpline next week to see if we can find some 'real' information. Unfortunately, when I called the normal service phone number, they were not willing to disclose the case info without my wife's verbal consent.

Yes, the mail usually is not scanned at your hometown postal service.  It is scanned at one of the processing facilities and then trucked out to your local postal facility.  So sometimes it comes 1 or even 2 days after you expect it.

🤔I wouldn't be surprised if someone else put the text in the NOA1 date. I was also confused first, but the instructions are clear: "NOA Date = The Receipt Date on your original NOA letter."

That's a great idea. I don't know why people are worrying so much about the 18 months extension letter when you can get a i551 stamp which is even better and easy to prove your legal status with.

Many offices and employers will doubt when they see the NOA1 "we never heard about this document", but when they see the i551 stamp,  it's always good, no need to explain what is it.
