Yes, since you didn't send them a G1145, they will not text or email you.

 

Since your check has been cashed, you can call USCIS to know your case number. With the case number, you'll know which service center your packet was sent to and track the progress.

The rep said that nothing was out of the ordinary, but the weird thing is when she said that the notification was sent on the 26th, and to wait up to 30 days from that day...which doesn't make much sense, mail-wise, unless it's coming on horseback.

I figured that out too, but I came to a conclusion that it appears that the office processing the NOA might be different than the receiving and acceptance office, however, if any application has been received and accepted, it will be thus be sent to NOA issuing office, to them once sent to this office, they marked the file as NOA mailed or sent. This NOA processing office might take 2 to 5 weeks on their own to review, entry data and then engage to issuing the NOA and once issued it shouldn't be more than 4-5 business days to get in mailbox. These are my thoughts, because as you said it certainly makes no sense to say a letter is been sent within USA and it's taking forever to arrive......It's their strategy and part of the processing technics, waiting, waiting and of course waiting...hahahahha....laugh it out and get rid of anxiety ,,, good luck

Don't get worked up over that! all u need doing is to call USCIS since the check is cashed, give them your Axxxxx # , with that, they will be able to provide your receipt # , thus you will be able to ascertain your service center based on first 3 letter beginning your receipt number track able on https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ , good luck

This wait is still doable compare to 150-Year Wait for Indian Immigrants With Advanced Degrees to get their green card. 

150 years of wait!!!!! i751 applicants are lucky with max 2 years and the possibility to apply for citizenship in the meantime.

You don’t have to request anything. You will receive an 18 month extension of your green card in the mail.

Yes, you will be able to work.

If you don’t receive it until you green card expires book an Infopass appointment and get a stamp in your passport. Usually a stamp it’s valid for 12 months.
