that's fast, considering there was a weekend.

I used the form g-1450 i don’t know if it makes a difference compared to submitting a check. I was wondering too. Google says they work during weekends FDC98395-6DE0-419E-8832-7BF5D6583E0C.thumb.png.0d00e85b717ddd0cfe25372e44ab5d05.png

No, once you filed form I 751, you will be given 18 months extension of your legal permanent residency in form of a letter on you NOA. Please note, that both the NOA letter and your expired green card is the ID you need to either get a job or change a job or even travel out of the USA and reenter without an issue, in other words the NOA letter serves as same worth of green card, but you need to make a copy, keep the original letter safely at home while you carry the expire green card with the copy on your person always, because that's the only proof of your status. I wish us all good luck

The problem is that most places don't accept expired green card as identification. They don't care about the fact that we are in the process of renewing. As soon as they see that it's expired, they will reject it right away. I've seen this many times in the past, thats why I'm going to get a ID card in the meantime while we wait. Hope it helps for anyone else

Our package was received on October 16th (checked by tracking number). Our check still has not been cashed and we have not yet received a NOA1. Should we be worried?

Our package was received on October 15th, we didn't hear anything from uscis for 9 days, check wasn't cash, no notification,  nothing. It turned out they sent our package back, well organized (that was nice!!!), all pages stamped with the date of october 15th as proof that we sent it that day.

The letter said we didn't provide enough fees. Actually we didn't provide $85 biometric. So we got the bank reissue another cashier's check of $85 and sent back everything as they organized it. There was a green notice to put on top saying something  like "once corrected, just resubmit your file again with this notice on top". They receive it on October 31st.

I totally agree it's sad I filed to the wrong location.... I still don't understand why!

As to them sending it back to me; I haven't had any notice whatsoever but the representative at USCIS told me to go ahead and file it again, this time at the right address. I will include a note stating these facts. So they know there is another identical file out there. I will go to the bank to find out if they have cashed the check. I didn't know that once they cash the check, your file is automatically accepted, is this true? Did you get this information from somewhere I can verify it? Thank you for your thoughts on this.

I did find the right address in the meantime, just in time thankfully.... I had no idea I had sent it to the wrong address..... Thanks to this thread!

If your application isn't going to be accepted. They won't cash your check, they will return your package with a Rejection NOA starting reason for the Rejection. As the agent u spoke with has advised, quickly put in another application to the right location including eNotification form to make u receive text message of reception and the receipt #. Also write a letter of explanatory reason why u filed late and explain the previous identical application to the wrong location. You should be getting the first package back soonest, however put in the second before your gc expires. Good luck

You shouldn't be deny any benefits when you have the gc extension letter. I have never see that happening, it might happened maybe if the extension letter hasn't arrive.....but once in hand you should be fine....best of luck

It is just strage that we did not get our package back either if anything was wrong with it. If you received yours already and even resubmitted it again I wonder why we still heard nothing. I wonder if I should call them and if they would have any information at all

OK, that might be the reason. We thought about using credit card, but changed mind at last minute, because at the time we were not sure if the facility in AZ is a real processing center or just a lockbox.

We sent it with USPS priority so it had to be sent to Dallas TX lockbox. Lewisville TX was for FedEx and UPS couriers

You are right. I completely forgot. We used FedEx, that’s why I said Lewisville.

Hoefully you will hear something soon.

You can give them a call and see what the deal is.

Yes, if the cashed the check you are good to go, it means the package was accepted, so before you send the second one check with your bank to see if the check was cashed.

Very happy for you! Good thing you did not send the second package!

This process is stressful as it is, you don't need any other stress. Did you ask for the Receipt Number?
