Same thing happened to me.  I placed an e-request on 12/8 and it says waiting to be assigned to an officer.  They then changed the date on 12/14 which is also when they took action and eventually closed the case inquiry.  Nowhere in my USCIS account does it say that I made an e-request on 12/8.  I now have my NOA on hand, hopefully you will get yours very soon.

Wow you guys.... Same here! My e-request was submitted December 6, and now I saw the date changed to December 20. What??!

01-16-2016: AOS package sent

01-09-2017: AOS (I-130 and I-485) granted

10-31-2018: I-751 filed

01-25-2019 NOA received (Extension letter, Biometrics waiver letter)

10-19-2019 Biometrics letter received

10-30-2019 Biometrics to be completed

How many NOAs did you guys receive when you received it? I got 3 copies in 3 different enveloppes, am I the only one?

(Pretty happy about it though!! 🙂 )

I have received 2 NOA`s. 2 days apart. Same letters.  So I have 1 at home and 1 at work.....:-)))

I just want to mention about biometrics. We all hope that USCIS will reuse the old biometrics even we have paid the fee. Only some are receiving the notice to go for fingerprints. Some receive the notice that they don`t have to go again.

I was wondering: now ( 2018 )  I do believe USCIS is able to check the database - background check - in matter of minutes. So maybe if the system flags the applicant - let say that since last bio he/she was arrested or any other flag - this person must go for bio again. Or applicants they did not travel outside of US since last bio have to go again. Reason I am saying this is that every time I was returning from our trips I had to submit my bio ( fingerprints + photo ) at the machine at the POE. So maybe USCIS has and collects this data and can compare it and reuse it if necessary. Or determinate that is not necessary for the applicant to go again.

At least if I would have the technology this is what I would do. Frankly I would background check the spouse of the applicant during the process also even without them knowing it. Because if the spouse has been arrested or has some kind of record, there is a big chance that husband or wife has one too or maybe is somehow involved in it. I mean serious crimes not traffic violations. Especially if the are looking into non bona fide marriages.

This is just my opinion.  I hope people who received BIO letters won`t be angry at me and will not reply in angry matter that they never been arrested nor their spouse....:-)))

Happy Holidays!

ok so this biometrics thing is kinda taking forever... I have a small window of time before I'm unable to travel due to my pregnancy and I really want to travel to see my family before having the baby..

I'm worried I'm gonna book a ticket and end up missing my biometrics appointment.. What do you think I should do?

I'm really sick of waiting for the appointment letter!

Just go visit and stop worrying about it.  Many will not get biometrics appointment because their biometrics will be waived.  Don't let USCIS dictate how you live your life because you are worrying too much.

Hi, I think you should book the ticket to visit your family. If you get the bio appointment for those days you can always change the appointment. They know people has their own lives and traveling abroad to visit our families is an understanding to everybody even USCIS.

You should choose the "notice" option. I believe the "document" option would be like a physical green card, for example. The green card extension is called a "NOA1" as in "notice of first action."

My husband and step son are also waiting on the bio appt to book a trip home. Does anyone know, for fact, that a biometrics appt can be changed?  We also have been waiting, and worrying that if they booked a trip, we'd get the letter with the appt while they're gone.
