Called USCIS about transfering my case

I couldn’t handle it any longer the hopelessness. I went online and had a talk at the chat line with Laura Scott the Attorney witch advised me to contact USCIS and demand a transferee from NJ to TN of my files and to make sure my appointment was canceled. My great lawyer in NJ told me just to sit down and wait. "USCIS knows what they are doing". :blink:

So I dicided to go with Laura Scotts advice and called USCIS one more time. This time insisting on talking to some on that actually can help me.

I explained to him about my move to an other state and that I received an Interview letter at the old address as well as my Cancelation letter from MSC and I was worried that even though it said canceled, the local office my have not canceled the Interview at all. I mentioned that since I moved to TN it may be a problem to have the Interview in NJ.

I underlined my worried that I could get caught up in there mistake and be denied my AOS just because they don't know what they are doing. The officer was very nice and helpful. He went ahead and made sure that my interview was really canceled (I hope anyway) took down the full information and request that my file will be send to TN. I should receive within 30 days a letter confirming there Interview cancelation and transferee to the Memphis office. It also should tell me how long it will take to get a new Interview. If not to call them immediately.

Right know with the high gas prices and us having no income driving to New Jersey and not be sure what we will encounter was kind of uneasy. This way at least I did my best and the ball is bag in there hands. I was thinking about making an InfoPass appointment in Charlotte N.C. that is the closest office to us. 4 1/2 hours away. Would that be possible?

If Charlotte is the closest office then I guess you are in East TN? I'm in Middle TN and the closest office to me is Memphis, and thats 4.5 hrs away. :(

I'm guessing you can make an infopass appt in any office you wanted to....

3/05/07 - Checks cashed

3/05/07 - Received NOAs for I-765, I-485, & I-130!

3/09/07 - All touched

3/10/07 - Received biometrics appt letter

3/13/07 - I-130 & I-765 touched

3/15/07 - I-485 touched

3/15/07 - Received email informing me that an RFE has been mailed to me about the I-485

3/19/07 - Received RFE for I-485 in the mail.

3/20/07 - Biometrics appt

3/21/07 - I-485 & I-765 touched

3/23/07 - Mailed back RFE with signature confirmation

3/26/07 - RFE was delivered to Lee's Summit, MO & was signed for by "Ashley Love"

3/27/07 - Received email saying that RFE has been received at MSC and that case processing has resumed

5/14/07 - Received interview notice in the mail! Interview will be on July 18!!!

5/15/07 - Received email saying that EAD card production has been ordered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5/16/07 - I-765 touched

5/19/07 - Received EAD in the mail!!!!!!!!

5/21/07 - I-765 touched

7/18/07 - Had interview in Memphis, TN! GC Approved!!!

7/23/07 - Received Welcome Letter (with notice date of July 19th) in the mail.

7/24/07 - Received Card Production Ordered email!

8/02/07 - Received Permanent Resident Card!!!! No more USCIS until 2009!!!!!

Hi everyone! I have been visiting this site for quite some time now and have decided to register knowing how you guys help each other through word of mouth.

I have just became a US citizen last April and filed my I-130 application for my spouse. I mailed it 21st of April and have not received a Notice of Action from USCIS since. Looking at all your timelines, it seems that I should have received it a week after they received my application. Is this a normal thing?

Thank you and hope someone could help clear things up for me.
