Hi everyone,

I've just come across the forum and its been so amazingly helpful. While I was reading through this topic, I came across someone commenting that Montreal historically takes 50 days, but right now they are at 90 days.. I was wondering if anyone that has received their interview recalls if the waiting time on the NVC site read ~90 days? or if that was just a guesstimate.

My case complete was November 19. Unfortunately it took about a month and delayed us because my husband was too stubborn to listen to me when I told him his short birth certificate wasn't sufficient. When I go on the site and check the estimated wait for interview it says 49 days. So I'm just curious if anyone remembers what it said at their date of case complete so I could know if this estimate is somewhat accurate. Thanks in advance!!

Hi. My case complete date is sept 26 and another girl is sept 21, neither one of us got an interview date for December. Most likely will be January. So it’s at least a 3 month wait from CC to interview for CR/IR1

My cc date is October 10th and I'm hoping for a January date. I was also delayed 4 weeks due to them rejecting my privacy act police check and having to request and resubmit the visa border crossing police check AND the privacy act one.   I hope your date comes quickly, but its looking like a 3 month wait from cc to interview....

yeah, I've seen on this topic that the average for you guys is three months right now but my question was more so if anyone checked the travel.state.gov website where they give you the current estimate for visas when they received their CC.

I saw darth vader commented about it being a 90 day wait, and its typically a 50 day wait, so what I was wondering if that statement was based off the timelines on this topic or if that was what was read on the website. because if it was they it can give an idea of how accurate the website is. My lawyer told me that that site is updated often and is usually pretty accurate so I was hoping people who have received their interview date checked that site when they received the case complete can attest to its accuracy. I feel like all the estimates I've received so far have been pretty accurate. My lawyer told me that after they switched to this online system and there was a shutdown for several weeks in July so basically all those summer CC dates have been really backlogged. Hopefully its speeding up but theres also apparently a slowdown in late summer and early fall. If anyone had checked the average interview wait time at the time of their case complete, could let me know please! thank you

I'm sure you're gonna get an early january date. It sucks that the changed the whole police check and screwed people over who were in that september month. I'm expecting a three month wait I'm just wondering if there's any legitimacy to this appointment wait time estimate!

Yes, it said within 90 days when I received a case closed status.

🤩we are headed to the airport now to fly out for our 9am apt tomorrow! I know we are fully prepared but this feels crazy, it’s finally time!

We only have the regular police clearance and nonprivacy act RCMP police clearance. The privacy act one is still in the mail and was sent more than a week ago (thanks for nothing Canada post). You guys think we’re ok with only 2 police clearances? My winning smile will pull us through 😁!

ttyl Good luck Arellah too!

Good luck everyone!

I had my appointment Nov. 13th and I had the fingerprint clearance (not the new privacy act one).  The documents woman was fine with that, and didn’t mention anything to me about having the other.

I can’t guarentee that I wasn’t just lucky on that, but they seemed pretty thorough otherwise!!

Hey all. I received the email below in response to my question about receiving our original docs back by mail. Sounds like they are sending passports out now?!

We are giving notice to our landlord this week so crossing our fingers the mail doesn't take longer than one month with the delays!

Good Morning,

Thank you for your inquiry.

The Official U.S. Department of State Visa Appointment Service is starting to mail out documents via Canada Post. The postal strike is not resolved, and you might expect some delay in receiving your documents.

The passports will be returned to you by courier services to a Canada Post office that you have chosen. To track the return of your passport please contact the Official U.S. Department of State Visa Appointment Service using the contact details here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/iv/information/contact_us

We hope that this information is helpful.

Sincerely,

OP13

You're not alone in being nervous, that's for sure!  My interview is Dec 13th, and I'm barely getting by counting down the days.

You're doing great – you waited out so many days, and just need to keep your cool for another day or so.  Keep calm, be honest, remember to eat breakfast.  It's your time to shine!
