@Alyssamac90 Did you get an interview date yet?

Nope, not yet. It seems like December is unlikely now but I haven't given up hope completely yet. My status on CEAC still says at NVC and I called multiple times yesterday.  @darth vader, congrats on getting a date in Mumbai! Amazing!

I hope you get your interview date in December. We had given up hope on getting an interview date in December too but you never know. And thanks so much. I am now stressing out about the visa pickup, I will have to fly to Mumbai from North India for the interview and have to get back to Canada after a week from the interview, I am paranoid my passport won't return to me in time for my flight back!!!!

Me neither. I called twice and no appt. CEAC still says at NVC. I’m not too hopeful for Dec but very hopeful for early Jan now.

Praying for you. I am also stressing out about passport pickup as there is a postal strike in Canada. I have to fly to Montreal from Mexico and back then drive to the US in the middle of winter now... very stressful for sure. Good luck!!

@Alyssamac90 and @BChance on the bright side, you guys would most certainly get an early January interview date!!!! I still hope you can get a December date though.

Thanks so much! It is so amazing to connect with folks who are going through the same thing. At least makes you think you are not the only one going through this terrible process. I also pray for you. I hope the strike is over by the time you have your interview.

I agree with you all! This site has been such a source of support!

This process is definitely stressful and crazy at times and it is encouraging to know you’re not the only one having to go through it.

My concern is that my husband and I planned a trip overseas awhile ago and our flights leave January 17th from Boston. With no interview date yet, we know it’s possible we will have to cancel the trip- we just don’t want to do anything to delay us being together any further so we don’t plan to reschedule our interview. If the postal strike is still on, Montreal is on my way to Boston and at the very latest I could pick up my passport the day before (16th) and get our flight from Boston the next day but that seems slightly crazy!  So many factors and we know it’s out of our control at this point. A December date would be amazing, early January could work... time will tell!

Well I’d estimate early February unless they speed up. Hopefully sooner but it seems like 3 months is the going rate lately.

I would estimate you’ll be late January if I had to guess!

OMG.... I had a feeling like I was reading my own story.... lol

So may things to coordinate and so many unknown variables, this process sucks when it comes to planning. You just have to live with the fact that you cant control anything. I really hope you guys can are done and have a visa before your trip.

This brings up a question, can one travel before their green card comes in the mail?

As long as you got your passport back with the temp stamp in it, i'm pretty sure you can travel from that point on, whether you have the physical green card or not.

I also feel I am reading my own story!! My husband has a temporary residents visa in Mexico and it expires beginning Feb 2019. We have to drive out to the US as he can’t renew it. So we have that deadline hanging over us as well as selling a bunch of stuff in our house, preparing for a 9 day drive in the middle of winter, finding an apartment in the US. All with unknown dates because of the interview being unknown....

The help and support is so nice to have xo

Does anyone know what documents are needed for the medical appointment?

For those who have received an interview date: Are we supposed to get an interview letter via physical mail? I heard that an "original interview letter" is required for the medical appointment and I am wondering what they mean by "original"? Does it mean a physical letter?

No, the email that you got when they first told you of your appointment date is the interview letter you print off and bring with you.  There's no physical mailed letter.
