Sounds good. And ya, I assume photo ID is all that would be required...seeing as they already have your passport.

Thanks for the update. This is huge piece of info because now the west coasters, who don’t have the luxury of being so close, now know how to plan a little better.  The power of sharing info on here in invaluable!

hey Bethany, did you get your flu shot? When I went to my physical they said they didn’t have it to give since it wasn’t November. Wondering if the embassy said anything about that?

I got my medical in early October and they said I didn't need it because they weren't doing it til the end of the month. No issues at the interview. I'm sure you'll be fine since you got what you needed. Also, I got my visa today at the consulate. I just needed to show photo ID.

You mentioned that you went to get your physical...does that mean that you got your interview date?

Yes! Congrats to those who have dates! And at least on this site, there are only a few more people who have dates before my CC of Sept 21, so that's exciting! It does seem like there are very few with CC dates in Sept, and none I've seen with dates in the last week of Aug. I've seen Sept 6th (@MC1) , Sept 12th (@MSDupuis) , Sept 13th (@SKB2017) and Sept 21st (@darth vader and myself).  Anyone else have a date in August after the 23rd, or in the first few weeks of Sept?

Yes my cc date is Sept 11.

Mom ready to get this process done!

Congratulations! What was the date that you received your interview date? If I recall at 10 weeks you still hadn't heard anything. Wishing you the best on the 9th!!

hello everyone! my husband just had his interview this morning at 9am (eastern) and got his "Welcome to the United States" letter!!! I was unable to go to Montreal with him due to time constraints (interview was scheduled about 2 weeks ago). He flew in last night from Vancouver, checked into the hotel had a sleepless anxious night (as did I!!!!) and got to the consulate at 8:05 am.  He was called to hand in the papers at around 9:20 am (the longest wait was to turn these in). Waited for a little bit for the interview and the interview only took 5 minutes. In and out by 10 am. He said everyone was super friendly (including the guards) and the lady that interviewed him was very appreciative that he brought all of the necessary documents, copies, and then some (my OCD organized it all and put post-its to make it dummy proof). Due to his job he cannot stick around and wait for his passport so we have opted to still have it delivered regardless of how long it takes.

just some notes:

He had BOTH types of police reports, our case was done online before they changed the rules about the police reports. Luckily we were able to get the second one in time. The interviewer took both and was pleased he had them both done.

The questions they asked were super easy, how did we meet? when did we meet? have you ever been out of North America in the past 5 years? No curve ball questions.

This was the easiest part of the ENTIRE visa process. But I will tell you that even though we read all of the reviews online, were 100% prepared with extra information in case they asked, and were completely aware this would be a breeze, it was still the most stressful part. I was sick to my stomach with anticipation, anxiety, etc. I am so glad this is done and over with!

Congrats to you and your husband!  I hope his passport gets mailed soon!

I told my husband he had to tell me everythingggg so I could post it on here just because other people's had made me feel the same! This forum has made this process so much easier because of reviews etc. Even the Doctor appointment was super easy with Dr. Cheema in Surrey, BC. I didn't pull enough info about it from my husband to go into full detail about it.

Thanks @Hill.ary ! We are in Montreal now! My wife's medical at Medisys is tomorrow morning (Wed. 7th), and our interview is on Tues the 13th. So close!

We're here 9 nights total because of the wait time between the medical and interview, and one day early just in case of weather delays, etc. If anyone is looking for a great place to stay, especially for a longer period, we have an Airbnb through Sonder (a property management company) that is 15 mins walking distance from both the Consulate and Medisys. It's a gorgeous 9th floor 1 bedroom apartment/condo and was about $65/night all in (even cheaper in December). We prefer Airbnbs over hotels, esp. for having a kitchen to cook and save $ from eating out for 10 days. This particular one is titled "Distinctive 1BR in Festival Quarter by Sonder" on Airbnb but they have several different listings/apartments.  Have a look!

Hi all, just FYI I called NVC again today and still no interview assigned to me.

CC: Sept 6

Thanks for the update, we are Sept 10 CC here, waiting for date as well. Based on the patterns from this board and others, it sounds like there’s a good chance September’s might all get a date this Friday. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the update!

Also, to the rest of you, when you got an interview date, was it both the petitioner and applicant who got the email or just the applicant?
