I wouldn’t worry - both of us have very very uncommon names and were at 170 days+ now.

I think she was referring to COMMON names. Common names will have an affect on processing times.

Oh yeah, I got that. I’m just saying we have uncommon names and it’s taking longer than “average”. As you say, mileage varies and for us, the names don’t appear to have much to do with it

@marlasinger any news yet?

Thanks for the help! Sorry you’re still waiting Brandon, at least you can check in soon since the times went down. It’s definitely been frustrating seeing Decembers approved. USCIS just likes to move at its own pace

Ughhhh. I just noticed that in my I-129F for my dad's country of residence I accidentally said the state that he lives in instead of the U.S. Should I wait to amend that till after I get NOA2 or try to contact them now to amend it?

Nothing yet. After this week I'll be calling them to get an update.

I think that today will be the answer. If there is no answer, my fiance will call tomorrow.

Yep - coming to terms with we are probably going to go out of normal processing and then it's just a guessing game from then.

I've heard both horror stories and success from case enquiries after normal processing times.

@Greenbaum - do you happen to know the process for after going out of normal processing? Thank you in advance

I notice on the case inquiry page it says

NOTE: We are actively processing your case if, in the past 60 days, you:

  • Received a notice from us about your case,
  • Responded to a request for evidence, OR
  • Received an online update to your case status.

We've received none of those in the past 60 days or anything since we received NOA1, does that mean they're not even processing our case yet?

I wonder the same thing. Some users here report case updates online, others don’t. The websites work very rarely in my experience, so I wouldn’t worry.

someone here reported some success using the case enquiry, so you could give it a try!

That's absolutely not what it says. They just don't want you to inquire if they're obviously working on your case. Like when you had a RFE 30 days ago.

In your case when you haven't heard or seen anything going on then you can inquire.

Yeah I've seen those where they get emails saying there's no update or something? Just anything like that would be nice right now lol. Anyway I think I'll wait until our date to make an enquiry and hope that in the meantime there will be some news.
