I just got off the phone with NVC. I asked if they have received my petition. I was told yes they have received my petition but they have not assigned it a number. As soon as they assigning a number they will send me an email with my number so that I can proceed. I will hope to make the next shipment to the Embassy in Bogota Colombia.

Congratulations!  I got off the phone with them just now and they also told me they received it today but it hasn't gotten a number yet.  NOA2 paper date 10/16, NVC receive date 11/9.  Just over 3 weeks.

No nothing yet either email or text, but. 4am Thursday morning I got that standard USCIS text saying they're still working on my case then Thursday night i called and they got my case, maybe that text that morning was related to them receiving our case, not sure.

Has anyone in this group started pricing shipping to the USA? My fiancé in Germany called a few places and it seems DHL is cheapest. He’s looking to ship maybe 5-6 boxes. A few books he can’t part with and then mostly kitchen stuff and some bulky clothes. He will be traveling home to Ireland before coming here so really can’t bring much with him on the plane or it will become crazy expensive. Anyone have better ideas?

My dad used to work in Airport.

Don’t go overweight with luggage as it makes no sense and almost as expensive. Buy a second luggage which is i think 100$. Now count. NONE of shipping companies will charge you 100$ for 23kilos of stuff.

If you can, you and your fiance both buy additional luggage when flying to US (assuming you will fly).

Thats the cheapest i can think of, bc shipping will go overboard with price really quickly. There are separate shipping companies that ship in bulk/heavy boxes, but it will take 1-3months for stuff to arrive in US.

Good luck :)

Problem is he lives in Germany but is going home to Ireland for several weeks before coming here to the USA. So he’s have to fly it to Ireland and then to the USA. Super expensive. Will be cheaper to ship it here.

I believe it has to be either in language that the consulate is in, or english. It'll specify on Your P3 whether you need to have it translated or not.
Have your birth certificate translated for sure, as you'll need that in USA definitely sooner or later.

Unless specified in the P3 letter, all documents can be submitted in English or the native language of the country to which your interview will take place in. Any documents in any other language must be translated.

DS-160 you can use the WAC # found on your NOA1 or 2. It's been hit or miss if NVC sends an email with the case number when you supply your email through askNVC. You will get it mailed to the petitioner but it will be 2-4 weeks afterward it has been assigned. It's best to call 2 weeks after the NOA2 is approved. Instructions on calling for the case number is on the first page of this thread. Yes you can begin working on the DS-160 now.
