I just did a timeline search here on VJ for all K1 petitions with NOA2 after 2018-10-09 and before 2018-10-11, ie for my date, Oct 10th.

https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/filterlist.php?cfl=

There are 22 cases for that date and 7 have recorded NVC received, leaving 15 that have not yet recorded as NVC received.   Patience needed, I suppose.

Edited by rye_212

first met late 2016, met 13 more times since. Filed i-129 Apr 14th. NOA2 dated Oct 11th.

Actually if they follow the instructions they will pay the wrong fee because it will show instructions for filling out the ds-260 instead of the ds-160

As I said, I just confirmed with the VJ member about the fee, and like you said, they paid $ 265. Regards.

ok, so it needs the total earning so far as well as the present salary? in that case will we need to add a cosponsor or someone since the petitioner has only been working since september? i'm getting confused.

They are looking for the CURRENT salary. That's what they base their decision on. If you current salary is above the poverty line for your household size then you do not need a co-sponsor. Some embassies can be an A$$ and can give you a 221(g) and ask you to get one and return the information before they complete the processing of your visa after the interview.

Use this link to determine your poverty line that you much reach or exceed.

https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT FOR THE INTERVIEW. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

That can be confirmed at payment stage or from someone from Colombia who had been recently interviewed. Lets hope this can be confirmed.

In the P3 letter that I have posted for many of you from Colombia it clear states and I quote:  Pay the application fee and schedule your interview at https://ais.usvisa-info.eom/en-co/iv/information/k visa. NOTE: You must schedule two appointments through this online system - (1) at an Applicant Service Center for fingerprinting and (2) at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota for your consular interview. (If you have questions about how to use this website, please follow the instructions on page 3.)

If you follow the instructions you will be faced with a number of questions that will lead you to the current payment amount for the K-1 visa.

Get the US Embassy Colombian K-1 Packet 3 (P3) at  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7hB3bl9Snfkb0NiMVFUd2JsVjA/view  as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for your country so that you are up to speed.

Hey!

How Long does it usually take for the embassy to Receive the papers from NVC

Depends. With the shipments leaving NVC every other week that could add an additional 2 weeks from your the receipt of you file from USCIS to NVC. Everyone is different so it is impossible to give you an exact or even a ball park.

In South Africa it is listed as $240 according to their website. I don't think it is $265 across the board.

Here is what our experience is. The fees listed on ANY Embassy's website can and at times contain erroneous information. Not only fees but other information. Anytime you can verify information from the process with USCIS, NVC and of course your own Embassy it would be a good idea. The fee schedule is posted so everyone can verify just what information they will follow. Fees have never been Embassy specific. EVERYONE pays the $265 fee for a K-1 and each K-2.

Your information is correct, however when I see 2 documents from the same source with different information can be confusing. Anyway I just posted to @payxibka confirming what he stated before.

Hi All, just a question regarding the Affadavit of Support (filling it out now while we wait, driving me mad!)

On the "Instructions for Form I-134" PDF it says you need a letter from the employer stating "salary paid"; is that just your total yearly salary or do they mean salary that has already been paid out to you? I imagine its the former but it doesn't hurt to check! Salary paid is the current salary.
Secondly, My fiancee (the sponsor) only started her first job in september and before then was a student. She more than exceeds the minimum salary requirement in her current job but would they be turned off by her not having had it for very long?  There is no time requirement to be in a position of employment or time in salary.

Thanks so much for your help!  Follow those two items and the evidence of support below and you shouldn't have any problems at the interview.

:bonk: I just noticed that I answered your question twice. Sorry.

Here is what is needed:

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. Well, I guess I’m in trouble then if that’s the case because I asked them to only put last years total income and I work for a major employer and was tough and long time to get them to provide me. I guess I will hope my current paystubs speak for me after that

The main goal of the financial is that you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt your income is enough to support your household size. If you can do that using whatever documents then you are good to go. Sometimes we overthink things and it plays games with our head especially in a process like this that your thinking to yourself, if I make one mistake, DENIED will be stamped across my visa. That's not necessarily true.

My NVC case status shows "at NVC" does that mean it's ready to be shipped, something else is happening, or does it need to change to " ready" as I see some people posting their status as being for it to be sent to the embassy ?

At NVC means at NVC and had not departed for the overseas post

YMMV

Greenbaum, do you have packet 3 from Tbilisi consulate by any chance? Can we complete medical before consulate receives case?

I don't have anything like a P3 letter from your country. I do have some information at the link listed below. If you get a copy of the P3 letter from your country can you share it with me. Just scan to a PDF and PM me here on VJ and attach to your email. Thanks.
